But bring a good radar detector.[*]Fairfax Station Road from VA-123 to Clifton (very twisty and no shoulders....make a slow pass the first time to learn the road)[*]Henderson Road from VA-123 to Clifton Road (same note as above, lots of blind hills/blind curves as you go over hills)[*]Springvale Road north of VA-193 if you go during the day. Some good hills. L'Auberge Chez Francois is up at the end of this road—an outstanding restaurant, in case you have never been there.
great list- ive driven many of these routes. (esp near clifton). Im a 96 hoo by the way, and i also happen to really love your Avatar ( mine will explain why)

My other car is a 1988 RX-7 convertible, hence my avatar. Hmmm, there's another thread going about stuff we'd like to see in the TL. Perhaps I should add a rotary engine to that list!

Yep, y'all are driving in my neck of the woods, too. 1995hoo mentions a bunch of them that I have driven and know.

Incidently, my oldest daughter is a '95 graduate of UVA (she got her master's from James Madison). Youngest daughter is a Hokie graduate.

They could have cared less. They are tight as ticks and love each other like you wouldn't believe, so college rivalry never entered their minds.

Second Vote for WV Mountains on I-77

This is my vote. Just did the drive (twice) last week on our way to Michigan from NC and the return trip in our 2 month-old 06 RRP 5AT Navi! Awsome!

For all you Northern Virginians:

Try the newly opened portion of the Loudoun County Parkway starting at Route 7.

In Los Angeles, my top 2 would be Topanga Canyon and Glendora Mountain Rd. (GMR)
