It all depends on your driving. I went 6800 miles lastime b/f I needed an oil change.
The first time was like 4200. Needless to say I have kept my foot out of it. But It may take a 1000 miles or more for it to change.

the mid is helpful reminder for maintenance but i by no means wait for that sucker to tell me change my oil. even though oil has come a long way and longer drain intervals are possible with both dino and synthetic i still take the car in for regular oil changes before the mid tells me to. my intervals are usually about 4-5K miles which is pretty close to when the mid usually tells me to. also i don't drive as much anymore so i also take the car for a change if the oil has been sitting in for 3-4 months.

your driving has nothing to do with it

it all depends on what your mileage from the last reset was

when you get to 7500 it will be 0

i still change mine at 3000 miles so i will never see a 0

Where do you get the 7,500 mile figure from. That is absolutely inaccurate because, if it was, everyone who own's a TL would see their MID go to zero at 7,500 miles, which obviously doesn't happen. And if it did, you wouldn't need a MID, just a light that went on when you got to 7,500 miles.

According to the owner's manual, page 64:

The engine oil life is calculated based on engine operating conditions and accumulated engine revolutions.
This means that the way you drive will affect the MID.

Wrongo!! A persons driving style does indeed factor into the MID reading. In addition, temperature, engine rpms, etc are also variables that are considered. Don't worry, your oil life will start to go down shortly and in 10% increments.

rbf351....I hope you use Havoline or Chevron in your 3000 mile changes since I own stock in the Texaco-Chevron company. That helps my wallet.

guess you learn something new everyday, thought it was the same as the 03 CL-S i had, where the light would come on at a certain mileage. guess acura changed the way it works and would also explain why mine was at 50% and i was only at 3,000 miles

sorry it's usually mobil 1 oil

You'll be at 90% very soon, don't worry.

My experience has been 10% for about every 700 miles, give and take.

That's the kind of data point I was looking for, thanks.
