I think you need to quantify it for us... Everything that's displayed in the Trip computer.
Average mpg
average mph
distance
It can say 16mpg and you've only gone 2 miles.
Mine says
21mpg
34mph
1000miles.

bronx, NY hm..... all city driving can be bad. i reset my mid once in NYC stop and go (it wasn't very bad). i got only 18~19 something like that. a grid lock for a long time you'll be getting probably "0" technically.

hey I am glad you wrote this - cause up until the past 2 tanks I have been getting 29 - maybe 28 at the very lowest. But the past two fills I am getting 26-27 - temp would make it drop that much? Damn.

I get 21-22 for regular commuting, average speed less than 30 mph. 30+ when driving on the interstate. Tops was 35 when average speed was above 55 mph. I reset it after each fill-up.

I reset mine after every fill up. I'm currently looking at 24MPG on about 250 miles on mostly city type driving.
My car only has 575 miles so I expect it to improve some too.

I've only filled up the tank 4 times and have under 1000 on my odometer.
I've been ranging 20-21 MPG with a 20-23 MPH average on 93 octane fuel (from BP and Mobil). This is about 70% city/30% highway.
I've been keeping pretty good stats so I'll post the actual #'s later.

Left my girls parents house the other day and reset the counter, looked about 10 miles later and was suprised to see ">50MPG"!!!! Of course I was leaving the Poconos and that was pretty much all downhill but still cool. It stayed above 40MPG for about another 20 miles and then it started getting back to normal.

I normally get about 24 to 25... with a high of 29...
BUT, I am working on my current tank and decided to see how high I can get on one tank... I am averaging 33 mpg.. with mixed city/hwy... I am short shifting and coasting a LOT... it is surprising how high you can get from this V6 if you do not accelerate quickly.... I usually do not get over 2,000 rpm and stay in the 1,500 range on this tank.. hope to get 500 miles.. at about 300 right now with 160 left on the computer...
So, the people who get only 14 must be doing something wrong..

Keep Right Except to Pass
As others have said, the city/highway disparity in this car is large. I generally get around 21 mpg in normal city driving (commuting, errands on weekends, etc.).
For Thanksgiving I went to Florida and did mostly highway driving. Filled up twice down there. First tank averaged 28 mpg including some city driving around Fort Myers and a trip down to Miami that included a sustained run at 95 mph across Alligator Alley. Second tank averaged 30 mpg at an average speed of 71 mph for 240 miles from Fort Myers to the Auto Train depot in Sanford. (There was still gas left in the tank and it was another week or so before I refilled; the average mpg dropped to something like 25 mpg after getting back home to normal city driving for the rest of the week.)
