What would you mod on your 3G if you had 6K to blow

Pretty simple enough question. Getting back 6k from my taxes and was wondering what should I mod on the car. Obviously the best bang for the buck trumps high price items (lets not be stupid with money). Here are some things I already bought type S trunk lip and Roof Lip. I'm also going to purchase the A-Spec kit when I get my 2k bonus in April from work. Future plans in April also include a clearing out the headlights and getting Type two switchbacks and getting I JDM toy LED day time running lights. Anything else that should be on my wish list?

also a nice suspension/wheel setup is what will stand your car apart from the sea of stock TL's out there.

good luck!

Well stockish LOL I didnt mod much, the only mod on the car is full LED interior lights and LED plate lights. Right now my car is at 68k I bought it last year at 58k. I have a warranty until 10/2015 thats why I'm a little hesitant doing anything major that may void my warranty.

Dude I love your decals but thats not feasible in NYC. My TL is parked on the street. I have no garage LOL. If I take out my plate mount then my front end is gonna get bruised to hell.

Pay extra on the car (assuming you still owe on it).

Also, how the hell did you get back 6K in tax returns? Do you have a lot of kids?

Do you have any goals for the car or do you just want to aimlessly spend cash? Put aside $1k for the 105K mile tune up, maybe $3K for a new tranny, and spend $2k on things you like. Do you want to upgrade performance? Handling? Looks? Audio? Don't blow it all now unless you know what you want.

Get a turbo. There's a guy selling everything you'd need for $4800 in the BM.

I claim 0 dependents all year then claim 1 when I file. I get taxed the MAX throughout the year, owe nothing when I file and always receive a sizeable return every year. I also finished university and you get 2k tax credit for going to school for up 4 years continuously. This was the last year I could claim for that 2k credit, I graduated in November. Also my 401k is set to to put away 15% pertax everytime I get paid so I pay A LOT of taxes on a smaller income. Only made 39k last year, Take home pay was around 18k-20k the rest was all taxes and 401k. And I have no kids. And I dont plan on blowing that much, most likely 2-3k. The rest will be for the bills

Factory warranty until 10/31 2015. A turbo would be a waste of that nice warranty I paid for

Honestly, any type of modding where you replace perfectly good parts with aftermarket parts is "being stupid with money" but it's better than blowing it on drugs or pissing it away gambling.

I'd pay off any debt you have that's over 8 or 9%. If you're under that threshold, I vote to keep it looking stock and go turbo. Sleeper mode!

If you owe money on the car, pay it off. Get rid of debt is the only wise thing to do.

I think we can come to a conclusion, Noel... that we are not going to spoon feed you.

this is an absolutely wonderful forum; it has great ideas on what to spend money on; but you're going to have to figure out what YOU want.
cuz we can spend your money for you all day long.

Put it towards paying off the car if you owe money on it. If not put it in the bank or invest it.

It would be one thing if you had big plans already figured out for your car, but just doing mods as a way to waste $6k isn't a great idea.

Your 401k withholding doesn't change the amount you're taxed on the rest of your income. Even without the 2k school credit, 4k is a huge return on 39k. Are you sure the W4 you filed with your employer showed 0 dependents?

It does help if I mention I also do itemized deductions and also donate to charities

Also found a perfect solution:

From Tax
700 for A-Spec Kit
1100 Shipped for Varrstoen ES 2.2.2 19x9.5 +30 offsets (will buy tires next year when my stockies are done) This is what I'm going for https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/varrstoen-es-2-2-2-19-a-820565/
1000 payment to car note

Total spent will be 2700 leaving 3300 for bills/savings

April 2k Bonus will be spent on this:
clearing out the headlights and getting Type two switchbacks and getting I JDM toy LED day time running lights which is ~500-600 leaving me with ~1500 to bills/savings

Total spent on modding this season will be ~2200-2300
Total retained would be ~4800

what would I buy?

stuff 3k into savings.
and blow the rest on an never ending supply of pudding.
but seriously; modding is personal.
what I like or need you might not like or need.

I need to take care of a dent.
i want type-s headlights.
I want to mod those type-s headlights.
etc.

your goals might differ than mine thus why suggesting mods is a wash.
what do you want to change to make the car better?
