No matter how hard I press the accelerator to the floor, my 5AT never gets to redline before it shifts. It usually upshifts around 6500 rpm's. Do any of the 5AT drivers out there ever get it to redline when its floored?

Stir it!
Have you tried putting it in "L" and holding it there, upshifting to the big notch as you hit red line, then going left with the shifter and bumping the rest of the gears (+ + +) as usual?

thats one of the issues with the 5at... a lot of people want to hold it longer...IMO, 6500 is more than enough...and besides when 2nd and 3rd kick in...there's more power....

i haven't really paid attention but i think it's around 3000 rpm when it shifts to 2nd (when you punch it). normally it shifts around 2500 i think. lol i'm gonna pay attention now and let you know when i get off work.
i know i accidentally downshifted twice from 3rd to 2nd instead of up shifting at 55mph. rpm kicked up at 6000 and damn i felt so bad after that lol. it's times when i use SS that i wish i gotten the 6MT but i would hate it during traffic and i know i would be tempted more to drive faster :cop:
