I got a base 08 acura tl. am on my 5th tank and just started keeping tab on mpg.

did about 150 miles ( all in city ) filled up 9.09 gallons. so comes out to 16.5 mpg. computer said 19 mpg. ( ac on )

took a trip, did about 250 miles and the tank is a bar over the half way mark. the computer says im averaging 32 mpg. Speed was mostly over 70 kept it steady at around 75-78 mph this was all freeway. (ac on)

On my last long trip, 80 % freeway, and 20 % city, i got around 380 miles when the empty light came on but it filled up with only 12.8 gallons. ( ac on )

a few questions for Tl owners,
how quickly does the oil change thingy go down ? mine went down to 70 % after 2000 miles, which was within 20 days of getting the car :P.
how reliable is the tire pressure sensor in the car ??
what settings do you keep the subwoofer, center thingy on ? i cant seem to understand them.
and wat to do about the rattling of the top board of the speakers, it even rattles at volume under 9, bass at +2, treble at +3, woofer at +2 and center and C.

fruitsalt, do a search for rattle under 3rd gen and you will find athread with pictures telling how to fix it.

My '08 Type S, 4,000 miles so far, will get close to 300 on the tank before the reminder light come on, but it measures out to 22-22.5 mpg. This matches the computerized mpg. My driving is mixed about 50/50 in town and interstate. I took a run down to Houston a couple of weeks ago, and got 30 mpg on the interstate with the cruise set at 68.

I average 280 on 93 octane and I just bought this car so spark plugs and filters should be all replaced. What is wrong?

I don't quite understand this post. What do you mean by "what is wrong"? Do you mean "why is my fuel economy so low," or do you mean "why do I need new spark plugs and filters"? You don't say where you're from, what sort of driving you do, or which transmission you have, so it's hard to comment on your post.

Sorry, I mean why is my fuel economy so low? I drive highway mostly and i'm from North New Jersey. I haven't been stuck in stop and go traffic with this car and I cruise 75mph. I have an automatic. I'm light on the throttle and try to shift around 2000-2500 rpms. My MPG is 18-20. If i drive mostly highway I average 22MPG. also I mostly drive with sunroof open rather than a/c.
