What Performance Mods?
who has done updated brakes--rotors and pads on a 6mt-- with what brand?
i replaced my stock pads with hawk racing and the rotors are now shot after 20k.
also looking for best suspension mods--stiffness and control for track use. who do you like?

alot of tler have gone with bbk's, for the suspension i realyy don;t know and yu already have the AEM intake so basically ur almost set. PM excelerate for info for parts, also he would probably know about the suspension. i live in port orange, so i might see u rolling around in ur tl (got ssm tl No-aspec, stock)

Concensus here seems to say the OEM Brembos are about as good as it gets up front. I believe Rotora just released a BBK for the rear...
None of the kits I've seen address brake bias or ABS/Stability Control for track use.
Same applies for suspension. Most kits out there are "sport inspired" but truly seem to be nothing short of "slam kits". Tein offers drop springs and coilovers, as does tokico... Your typical import aftermarket street stuff.
I think the fundamental problem is the TL is a BIG HEAVY car with a lot FWD power and EVEN MORE TORQUE STEER... which really has no real place on the track, other than for owner S&G's.
I look forward to your findings though, please post them

I agree that TLs are not optimal for the track, but I sold my toy as of 6/25, after I've had the chance to track it on 6/10 and 6/24. Ill be w/o another until Jan/Feb and can't go that long w/o a track fix.
With that said, the TL did exceed my expectations in the past. Only real problem was a dead spot between 2-3 gears exiting a specific turn and AEM CAI helped that a little. So, if I could just carry more speed through the turn...
Also, Im not really looking for a BBK, just replacement rotors as the Hawk race pads destroyed the factory rotors.
Thanks for feedback.

Well as of right now ROTORA has not released a replacment rotor for the 6 speed. Your best bet would to upgrade the front brake setup with a ROTORA 2 piece disc setup. The 2 piece rotors have an aluminum hat with iron rotor so it has some advantages:
1. Lighter rotor than original one piece rotor so there is less spinning weight.
2. Better heat dissipation due to use of aluminum hat rather than cast iron.
3. Floating disc system which allows the disc to expand and contract freely without stressing the hat therefore prevents the disc from warping or cracking.
4. Curved directional vanes to to help with disc cooling
5. Slotting and drilling to help dissipate heat also
If you are going to track this car you will need to upgrade. Although your stock calipers are great the disc will not endure the constant and aggressive braking.
For suspension you could upgrade the rear sway bar with a Comptech RSB. It will increase the diameter from 20MM (stock) to 22MM (Comptech).
TEIN Super Streets could help too by lowering hte vehicle more and adjusting the damping on the shocks for a firmer suspension. You could wait for TEIN to release the Super Streets w/ Pillowball Upper Mounts for even better ride. Go here fore more info: www.tein.com
