Haha, Aaron, yes I was when this thread was started. Never even heard of a TL back then. I only started to look at the TL early this year.

These are brochure images of the cars I own in their correct colors. Wish my CRX looked this nice. But my Civic looks a lot nicer.

Replaced my 2004 TL at 95Kmi with new tranny from a dealer with BMW 535xi.

This was 2nd out of 3 honda/acura cars whos tranny failed.
All cars were religiously maintained and bought brand new.

Pissed at the rate acura dealer charges for tranny replacement, I'd rather be driving a german car with AWD/RWD, turbo, diff engine options etc.

My wife is driving 2008 MDX and I am already reading about tranny shudder, overheating, sensor replacemnent etc in that MDX generation. WTF??

Dear Honda, this MDX and our 1998 Honda Accord are my LAST honda products. I do not care for replacing or fixing transmissions in your cars! So get your shit together while (some) people are still buying your cars. Or is it korean automakers who are eating your lunch?

In my sig. '84 Buick GN. Never been to the track on the "new" engine but it went 10.60 on the old setup. I've owned it since highschool, went to my senior prom in it in '95. It just sits now, I don't have the time or money for it anymore but one day...

Super old video from '01. One of the only vids I have of the car. One of the guys talking is a semi-famous race driver now. I had just raced the Vette in the background and turned into Sonic. Engine was new, I pinched a valvecover gasket and had an oil drip onto the headers which is the smoke you see. Too poor back then to do anything right. I think it was somewhere in the 12s at the time.

http://bsr.njsr.org/2001/042801/4.wmv

One other from '01, stock with the boost turned up and open exhaust, street tire against a supercharged/heads/cam 5.0 on slicks.

Are you into mountain biking? I used to belong to MTBR but there were way too many snobs. I bought an entry level mountainbike, a Specialized Hardrock just to see if I would enjoy it again after 10 years off. I liked it so I literally upgraded every single component. The only thing left is the frame. 8" disks were the first thing installed, it's awesome having one finger stopping power and great modulation to boot. The last time I had a bike, disks were not even around. You probably know a lot more than I do but I've had fun on some night time down hill runs. I ended up spending more on the lights than the purchase price of the bike.

i started out MTB when i came out here. my brother introduced me to it. my mongoose was built by my bro as my first MTB. then as a grad gift to myself after grad school i got the trek (at the time it was about $3k). love it. i had tons of fun and lots of times smacking into trees, chain hung on logs, endos...we did mostly cross country singletrack. i got really into it for a number of yrs and i was able to keep up with my bro pretty well and learned a lot of the technical skills to really enjoy it.

then i discovered road tri's a long time ago....and my competitive itch came back as well as the need to explore my personal growth and curiosity through tri's. i would do fat tire tri's BUT my ankles won't tolerate the trail runs. i dont' get out on the MTB as often as i would like esp when i'm training for IM during the summers. i've spent a lot of money on tri gear...and bike stuff in general. bike stuff ain't cheap. and like our TL's you don't wanna buy cheap parts for your bike...they break if pushed hard.

I don't understand, why do so many people have two cars? Yes I understand having a work truck or a collector car, but another sedan? Also, why not use the TL as your DD? Its a Acura, not a ferrari..

I've wondered the same thing. It doesn't bother me but I don't understand having two ordinary sedans owned by the same person. Obviously a household a different story. I bought the TL because it was a very nice daily driver but not so nice I would feel guilty for daily driving it. I still wouldn't mind a super cheap beater so I wouldn't have to park a mile away anywhere I park. If the winters here were bad like some places and I had to deal with salt, I would probably have a cheap winter car.

*below is sarcastic ?'s with supid/inconsiderate answers* answers

Why do people buy brand new cars? It is a complete waste of money. Why do people pay someone to wash their car/or do an oil change? It is a complete waste of money. Why do people modify their cars? It is a complete wast of money.

Just a few off the top of my head, but people have two cars because they want them. Why does it matter to you. my WIFE and I have two cars and ALL four are paid for.

OK, here's mine:

My DD 2006 TL:

The Missus DD: 2006 Cadillac CTS

The recreational car:

That's an MR2 Spyder by the way

The vacation car (stored in SC): 1993 300ZX (convertible, non turbo)

And the bike: the 2000 Honda ST1100

And for nostalgia, my TL with my old TL (prior to my brother taking ownership 6 years ago):
