What to expect from a used 2006 TL

Hi, I'm thinking of soon to check out a TL that I'm hoping to buy. It is a 2006 Acura TL with an A-spec body kit. It has 134k miles with a clean title and its interior reupholstered. He is asking for $6500 and I'm wondering if the price sounds right. Maybe this could be my first car!!! What some possible issues when the car is at 134k miles? and what do I need to check that was replaced already? Or is it better if I find a TL that is a 2007 or 2008? Thanks!

The 07 has a much more reliable transmission than the earlier years. Also, at 134k you need to know if the timing belt replacement was done (105k service) with water pump. Search the Problems and Fixes tab to see the common issues. Power steering O rings, steering rack and hose recall, HFL....etc. Overall the 07 has been extremely reliable (254,000 miles and still going strong). These cars will run a long time with proper basic maintenance but transmissions on the pre 07 is something to be concerned about. Good luck.

That's the automatic transmission, not the manual.

^^^^correct....I assumed a 5 speed auto. Pretty sad that I could not remember since I have been driving one for 10 years, and the previous for 8.
