Forget the looks, but based on driving matters only.. what car would you own? The 2006 TL or the 2007? and why? I'm really interested because I'm in the market for a new car so I would like to hear some opinions, thanks!

wtf, i thought you were gonna list two different cars.

in case you forgot.....they are both acura TL's.
both have the same things mechanically going on.
they both have the same interior with some minor refreshing in the 07.
both have the same 3.2 SOHC high revving 258 HP engine.
both have double wishbone suspension.
and the list goes on.....

is this a trap?

Well I am kind of stuck on the TL sorry no other car! Besides the looks, we all know it is nicely update both out and in and as well as the same engine but, I feel like the 2006 is a little more aggressive (acceleration).. Call me crazy..

I don't want to get rid of it because the car is mint, always has been and most likely will always be but I'm actually selling it to my brother he needs a new car and I don't mind upgrading to the '07 or possibly a g35x, love the all wheel drive hmm. Oh no payments for me I never like to finance.

get the 07 ... the minor refreshes are worth it ... such as the head unit being able to play mp3s/ the aux input/ update gauges ... little things but worth it

Yeah the aux is a big plus! and the gauges and ESP the updated font in the information display, now its not using pixel square font from the 80/90s!

The 06 has a stiffer suspension. The 07/08 base models are 'softer'. You can also get a MT with the 06. With the 07/08 you have to go Type-S to get a MT. I would say the 06 is going to be the better/sportier ride i.e. if that is what you are looking for.

Maybe nobody understands, when I said the picture was on flickr, I was saying that's where I got it. I would choose the 2006, because who in their right mind would choose a newer car with more features? duh

This is like asking the question, who would rather have $5 dollars or $6 dollars? clearly $5 is the no brainer.

I like the fogs being relocated to the bottom of the bumper on the 2007's, but thats a minor styling change. I do like the MP3 capability. I'd still take an 06 over an 07 any day though. The HVAC-Radio display on the base 2007, non navi is about ugly. I don't like the rims on the 07 base, 06's looked better to me. Its not important to some, but i like the fact that a 2006 auto can go upwards of 150 mph and is not limited to 132-134 like the 2007 autos are. I like the 4 spoke steering wheel's on the 04-06's. Now add a 2007 6spd Type S into the mix and I'd take that car in a second.

Thanks, I've had replies from you in a few threads.. And yeah (to everyone) I realize this thread is completely stupid, and when I typed it I did not word it correctly so my bad. I was just trying to see who liked what better not based on the looks, I mean people still think that the 05 is faster then the 06-08 because of old testing procedures for horsepower.. What do you think True/False?? You seem to know what your talking about.

Welcome to Acurazine. Excuse the immaturity above. The 04-08 base TLs all perform exactly the same and have the same amount of power. As you said, the testing procedures changed. I still tell people my car has 270HP...that's what it says in the owners manual.
