What a day: KILL & BMW wants VTEC
Last weekend I installed my CAI, with the help of my neighbor who has an 01 330i, that could pass for an 05-06 (M Package Black- its sick), anyway- it took us 2 1/2 hours and I have been dying to really test it out (have been out of town for the past 4 days). It sounds great, but we had really poor weather all last week, so I really didnt feel solid about hitting like I want to (you know 0-80 or so).
So today I get back home and immediately make a run to the store. The wife and I come to a stop light with all the windows down, sunroof back, just chillin, enjoying the day when low and behold we are startled /taken completely off guard by this brand new flashy just cleaned bright red base mustang convertable with some dude driving, his girl in the passenger seat, and then another couple in the back. They were blaring some music and all singing obnoxiously loud. The light turns green, and I wait to see what this jackal is going to do, nothing....so i just ease on the gas and proceed. Well, I guess he was feeling really strong because before I knew it I heard (note heard, bc he was about a half a length behind me still at the light) him step on it WAY to much for normal driving, - so, I immediately put the pedal to the floor, the CAI took a breath and the sound was so ......perfect
- I put 7 cars on him in the matter of seconds, then he dissapeared from my mirror It was great-
Second story- My buddy who helped me with the CAI (neighbor, the 330i M package guy) came over afterwords today, and I let him drive my car. As were out and he stepped on it, he was like " man, whats with the sound change!"- i explained it was VTEC and he was like "i love it!!", and he couldnt get enough. He also commented on how he believes I would beat him in a straight, but he would get me on a track (time will tell)- In conclusion, he kept telling me that my car was blue, and not black when we got back to the house (fresh wash)- thx

Don't press your luck with the 'stangs. My neighbor has V8 Turbo. It looks stock.. but the effin thing traps at 130.. 1/4 in less than 11 secs.
