Before vacation, I did a oil change with all Red Line 5w-30 and a Royal Purple oil filter. The oil looked brand new for the first couple hundred miles before I left for vacation. I checked the oil today after getting back from vacation (1.5k miles later) and the oil looks considerably darker and dirty. Keep in mind that the 1.5k mile was nearly ALL highway driving @ ~70mpg cruise control.
Is this pretty normal? I thought that car oil took a little longer before it was noticeable darker.

Your first few changes to Redline will get dark quickly. It cleans very well. After the 3rd change it will not get as dark as quickly. Just remember, some oils change colors due to the additives. Redline is one of them. It will get darker just from the heat cycles. It won't get dark as quickly after every additional change but this oil starts out darker than most anyway.
