The 01 Maxima is a 3.0L (VQ30DE-k) and congrat on beating the 03 Maxima. A regular 3G TL 5AT is usually fairly easy pickins' for the 5.5G Maxima.

I don't really race on the streets, and I usually don't play around unless the car is in similar class/price range, but I did get my ass handed to me 3 times in a row by MT 335i sedan a couple weeks ago.

1st light was normal, as we pulled away, I gunned it to instigate a little. He quickly dropped it and pulled about a car away from me by the next light.
This time, I launched normal, and he had me by at least 3 cars by the next light.
3rd time, I powerbraked and launched...still couldn't get within 2 cars of him by the next light.

Pulled up, smiled and gave him thumbs up. He has his girl in the car with him, so he was feeling pretty good.

Assuming it was stock with no plates yet...looked brand new.

I was also smoked by a MB E55 AMG (V12 biturbo) - goes without saying. Not embarrassed by either one.

I don't know what I've killed, except some douche who was riding my ass in his C230 Kompressor....freeway ramp and left him easily 10 cars behind in an uphill merge. I guess anyone who thinks their Scion TC or Altima is fast gets a spanking too...but I don't really consider those races.

Thought the E55 was a supercharged V8. Brother-in-law has one (couple years old), seriously a mean car. Trying to drive it before he trades it in

Regardless (V8, V12) still a beast (+/- 500hp, 500lbs)

Good Question! I've actually had one come beside me....revving and lurching...got behind me and flashed his brights....then went around me and hit his hazards. I was too dumbfounded to even race at that point.

I could be wrong on the model. All I know was I was next to it at the light...looked over and saw V12 on the front fender. Guy was in the passenger seat with his hot trophy wife driving....2 boys in the backseat. Guy rolled his window down, asked me if i wanted to go at the light or from a roll. I laughed and said I know where I stood against a 12 cyl. He said, that's a pretty nice car....I wouldn't be embarrassed to have one in the driveway. (almost in a condescending tone). I launched at the light...she gave me a good 2-3 second start when I heard her tires squeal. I was WOT when she blew by me like I was in a parking lot. At least they smiled and waved at the next light.

turbo'd stang GT.. wow.. i am in awe...

There's a boosted maro here in the bay area that i used to see at the runs, but dunno where he's at now... haven't seen him in days.

I also raced a different GTi and he was surprised that I beat him by 1 car or so from dig and roll. He had a new tranny installed not too long ago with CAI and exhaust, not sure what else he had, but dam, that thing has torque.. kept up with me neck and neck in first and 2nd, but at 3rd, i started pulling slowly.. At the next light, he asked what I had in the hood and he said " i fkin way". I told him that i could pop the hood for him, but he had to go back home because he had a curfue.. .. anyways. it was a good night.. We also got it on video, but my friend is having problems with it.. =\ ...

yeah....i haven't had a chance to look at his intercooler but i'd heard loud ass BOV sound
from his hood. on green, both lunched at the same time. in a few seconds, i was already 10~15ft behind. i was like, fuck this shit....there's no point of racing this asshole.

Haha...

At least they were nice about it. Sounds like it was the S55 (think they have a V12).

I've seen two S60R's over the last couple days...awesome car. I've never actually seen the sedan in person before two days ago - I was very impressed. Going the AWD route w/ my next car - most likely the LGT.

Anyway...

Wins
03/04 (??) BMW 330i coupe
VW Corrado (Actually this was in my '97 TL-P)
'05 Accord Coupe (I/E)
'04 TL (AUTO + 1 passenger)

Losses
Late 90's Corvette
95' V8 Camaro (same run as the Corvette. Killed both of us. Kept up with the Camaro suprisingly well until I hit 4th)
M3 (330 HP)

All of these happened quite a while ago (2+ years). My street racing days are long gone

I did some digging, and it was most likely the S65 AMG, as the S55's only came with a mere 500hp 5.5L V-8 Kompressor. The V-12 packs a whopping 612hp. Plenty of power to move that thing down the road. DragTimes.com shows one pulling 11.5's at 120 in the 1/4. I need me one of those!

As much as I love my S60R, I felt belittled that day for sure! LOL

I like the Legacy GT's. Never had the chance to get next to one at a light...always wanted to though. Their AWD system is closer to a 50/50 front/rear setup, vs. Volvo's Haldex, which is 90/10 front/rear, with power shifting to the rear under any slip conditions. The LGT Spec. B is only rated at 243hp, vs. the S60R's 300. I'm told that they're still tough to beat. I think they're a little lighter, but overall, great cars IMO!

612 HP <--- ridiculous. Next time drive the ZO6

My girlfriend has an '05 LGT. She has the unlimited model which was an awesome buy (Around 25K out the door)...kind of a turn off that they discontinued the base GT model and only offer the GT-Limited now. There's some guys on the LGT forums that dyno'd completely stock Spec B.'s and got pretty good numbers - 241 Ibs, 220 or so at the wheels. Respond really well to mods -- few guys turning close to 500 whp on the forums. I'm sure you can beef up the Volvo quite a bit too considering it's drivetrain.

Agree...both great cars. Unfortunately I'm liking her's more and mine less every day!

Grass is always greener. I'm leaning towards dropping the S60R by the end of the year and moving up to the 4.2L Supercharged Jaguar S-Type R. 400hp RWD with more room and luxury than the Volvo. With the release of the new Jaguar XF to replace the S-Types for 2008, I'm hoping to find one with very low miles. There's lots of them out there right now. All I need is a black one!

Another one to add to my win column as of tonite. On my way back from Edgewater, a VW R32 came up along side. Ripped him 3 times in a row! Light after light, he just wouldnt stop and wanted to keep going, but I ended it.
I was sort of amazed because of the fact that I can take quite a few cars given the fact im riding on 20s and have a heavy ass system in my trunk.

I know...you can always find something crazy to race here! I chased a DB9 in my last car.....not for very long once he figured it out though...LOL.

My brother taunted a Mercielogo in his 6.0L GTO. It was an uphill run from a light...he said he did ok for the first 1/8 mi or so...then he was left in the dust. By the time he got into the curves of the mountain road, he saw taillights fading into the distance about a good mile ahead of him.

Had a playful run w/ an '05/06 Maxima today down a canyon road (won't say which). Was killing him through the corners until we came up on a turbo Beetle that was going about 30 Mph...pretty much died after that

I am quite suprised by some of your guys kills, I think for the most part the people driving the other cars didnt know how to drive.

Yesterday I smoked a blue 2g tl coming home from bridgewater, he was cruising around the ramp to get onto (I believe was 202/206) to go towards clinton, I was driving my 96 mystique with 131k miles, which is stocker than stock, the guy was giving me a hard look as I was passing him . Buddy if you read this, I think its time to sell it

Ya, it looks better than the contour tho, IMO.
I found pics of someones mystique, i have the same car, except I have the stock rims as shown in 1st pic.

The Ford Mondeo/Contour/Mercury Mystique is one of the best handling FWD sedans in the world. Too bad it's too small to be popular in North America.

Your not talking about my mystique? Are you? Its not that small of a car, and as far as handling goes, HOLY DEATH ROLL . It rides better than a cadillac.

wtf? a mystique and performance in teh same sentence?? yeah...ok moving on...i used to work for ford....and those cars we're anything but performance monsters.... That 2g TL was probably being driven by an old lady...even the newer Focus SVT's are slow...you could smoke them in the "gay" Civic Si's(03's-05's with the dildo shifter) i use the term gay only because statistics' show that more than 50% of the drivers of those Si's are not heterosexuals...so dont get offended by that term....

Your sentences explains why you no longer work for ford
If you would have read what I posted, you would have seen
guy was giving me a hard look as I was passing him
. The guy was about 25-27 years old. I never said I thought the mystique was fast or had any kind of performance values to it, hence the reason I have another car. I just simply said I smoked a 2g tl, and the guy should be ashamed of himself for loosing, especially when he was in front and got the jump.

Ford Mondeo was the European car of the Year in 1994, not for its performance, but its handling. You should be happy about your car! And well, it's small compared to say, a Taurus and Intrepid.

^ It may have handled well when it was new, but now its softer than a couch lol. I couldnt help but lmao about some of the reviews

Our tester was a genuine driver's car, closer to BMW than Toyota in character. Stronger springs and shock absorbers keep the sportier Mystique even more firmly glued to the pavement while firming up the ride,

We found the steering to be sports-car sharp, body roll almost non-existent and the brakes are superb.

And the engine is terrific. With 170 hp available, the Duratec can chirp the front tires from a standing start, making the traction control option a desirable addition. It's well-muffled in cruise mode, but has a healthy snarl when pushed.
LOL. I do agree with the traction control part tho, it does come on sometimes when im in 1st.
