Rattles, rattles, rattles. And the heat soak does seem more apparent in this car then any of my previous vehicles. Custom UCM coming soon.

Something I didn't think of when I posted in this thread previously is something that's probably not unique to the TL but is still damn annoying: The low-profile tyres seem to need topping up way too often. I'll put some air in to bring them up to the 35 front/32 rear per the door-jamb sticker and two or three weeks later one or two of them will need to be topped up again. None of them has a leak, they just seem to lose air a bit more quickly than the tyres on our other two cars and I find it annoying.
The guy at the Acura dealer recommended a nitrogen fill for $30 (top-ups no charge) because he said they'd lose air much less quickly. But air is already 78% nitrogen, so I'm skeptical.

quirky shifting trans, rattles, poor quality leather, front wheel drive. That's it really. Very happy.

I guess I am lucky that my last car was a mustang in regards to the turning radius... because the TL definitely doesn't bother me one bit lol. What does bother me about the car is the leather I don't really experience many rattles either only sometimes on the doors depending on the song being played/volume.
Considering what car I came from I feel like I'm in heaven

like every one else, rattles and ticks. the rock chips...(ugh) and the lack of a garage at home (at work great, at home...the TL gets its blankie to sleep under).

My dislikes!
1. Dings/scratches all over my car
2. throttle
3. FWD
4. Not a Type-S MT
5. Removing bumper to change headlight bulb
6. Lock/Unlocking button to rest my arm on (Thank god i can cut that piece of button now thx guys).
7.Windows scratched my newly done tints
8. Breaks dirties my rims
9. No Navi
10. Poor leather quality
11. The stupid cassette player
12. Side mirrors don't auto fold when turning car off >=[
13. Steering wheel doesn't readjust by itself like the Lexus s350 when coming out of the car.
14. Can't roll windows up from my remote as i can roll them down >_<
Other than that I love my TL and I hope the next generation TL's got much more to offer than the 3rd and 4th gen ones.

Nits:
1. The sunroof control's delay being shut off once the front door opens after shutting off the ignition. I often find myself leaving the car on just to close the sunroof when there is a front passenger with me. I realize this is also the case for windows but I find this to be more of an issue with the sunroof.
2. The Nav that needs to calculate the last .10th mile before showing what to do soon. When driving in an unfamiliar area you just want to know do you turn left or right and not the entire route. I think the web browser philosophy works well (where you see text before complicated graphics)- you can wait for the fine details of a 50 mile route but may go 'off route' before it wakes up to show you what to do now instead of in two hours.
3. The MID that seems to need lots of clicks to do common things. For example, if I leave the MID on Trip Computer, why can't it remember that it was on trip computer 1st screen. It takes an another push or two to see what you last had displayed (you had the range screen on instead). The MID is rude with maintenance reminders because that takes a push each time to clear instead of going away automatically like the nav screen. Maybe it could make you push it every 5th start or something since it reminds you about service due very early <20% anyway.
4. Occasionally the XM radio tuner gets confused after changing stations and you must cycle power to get it back to work.
Compared to other cars, these are pretty minor issues really. I would buy a TL again because my car has been pretty trouble free. Seen the dealer just once for a blown speaker in 5 years and that also covered the only recall on the power steering. Not bad!

I believe you can close them all by using the key to lock your doors and then turning it again as if you're gonna lock them again(holding it). This is how it is on the accord so I assume it'd work for the TLs.

I know, i meant to say from a far distance like i do with my roll downs.

Will do! I heard those modules go for like $50 right? Worth the try. Someone also mentioned the annoying sound of your side mirrors when they're turning down for parking. If you take your car to Acura and tell them they will fix it! Mine sounded like if they were crushing ice and once i took my car in for service i also had them check those out. Now they turn down and up without any noise at all

So far the things I hate are:
No Navi.
Mild steering wheel vibration at 75+.
Sub woofer seems non-existent
Some of you guys complained about poor turning radius and mpg. Go out and drive an Infiniti for a couple months.

LOL yess add that cheap sub woofer to my list. I heard my friend's s350 and his stock sub woofer sounds like heaven.

if u shut the door with the window rolled down, the door sounds like it's going to fall apart. maybe it's just my car...not sure, but in any event...it drives me crazy.
couple other things would be the aforementioned rattles & turning radius. i also HATE that my 05 TL has a cassette player...it's pathetic.

The seats and gauges are nice, but the rest of the interior seems a little star trek bizarre. The steering wheel needs to be seet high or it obstructs the view of the gauges. The nice ergonomics make up for the strange interior.

There have been a lot of comments about things, but the interior has not been noted a lot with the exception of the lack of a folding back seat. What is so treky about the interior? Is it the use of Aluminum? I take it wouldn't be the wood accents since wood certainly wasn't on the Enterprise.
I think the interior is one of the big attractions to a TL over some other makes since it's clean, functional, and semi elegant. I really like the design for cupholder with the sliding cover. I can have my coffee and cell phone parked on that thing. I also like the design for console and the gauges too.

vill0169's TL Diet Thread has a good pic: http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...9/IMG_1562.jpg
The pass-through should definitely be MUCH bigger though. You could maybe fit a pair of skis through there. Definitely not my snowboard.

My dislikes
1. Super easy to scratch/dent aluminum trim. My center console trim was all sorts of fucked up by the previous owner, and now they cost ~$180 apiece to replace I was going to pick up a set on ebay for $80 but somebody outbid me last second probably one of you ziners. Congrats, but I hate you.
2. Damage other people do: Way too many door dings, stress marks in the front bumper from my sister's buffoonery, and a silver-dollar sized chunk of paint missing from the rear from some other asshole.
3. AT and lack of torque. I used to be perfectly happy with the car's power, but recently I drove my buddy's new 1995 M3; now I refrain from spirited driving out of sorrow. There's no comparison.
One end note: My car is broaching 90k miles and I have zero rattles from road vibration even at 80mph. There's a decent amount of creakiness and such when I hit big seams or bumps, but other than that it's golden. For now

Forgot to mention - I don't think anyone has yet - Major lack of aftermarket support compared to Honda/Acura vehicles with an international presence. I realize we have a great community here and with our vendors, but it would be nice to have more commercial and big-name competition and support.

back seat not folding down, reports of tranmission failure ( i think about it now that the car is approaching the 100k mark and really did not do any tranmission fluid/service until 35k, and doors that like to swing back and knock the crap out of you when you have your hands full trying to get out of the car ! haha

Keep Right Except to Pass
Two things that have annoyed me in the past but are bothering me less at the present time because my recent travels have not taken me to Canada:
(1) The metric portion of the speedometer is useless if you don't already know how the speeds correlate. The blue color looks nice, but the km/h scale is too dark a blue and too small, so it's illegible, and the 20 km/h gradients are a poor choice. The numbers should be brighter and there should be hash marks for the 10 km/h increments. I know how all the speeds correlate, but it shouldn't be something you have to think about.
(2) The MID cannot be switched to metric. This is particularly dumb with a digital odometer and temperature gauge where all they have to do is add the appropriate equations and provide an option to switch it. If you're on a highway signed in kilometres and metres, it's nice to have your odometer using the same units. In the same vein, switching the Navi to metric doesn't help a whole lot if, when it tells you to exit in 500 m, your odometer is still using old-fashioned measurements.
