Red face well so long TL-S

sadly i have to let go of this car. in the last couple of month a series of events has lead me to turn the TL -S in and i will soon be getting the Pontiac G8 GT(6MT,350+hp)
I'm gonna miss the acurazine family/site, i have to confess it was my home page and the site that i looked at the most, but hopefully i will be getting a nice car in its place.
I know how could you compare American tech with leading Jap, well to be honest its all about the HP. i wasn't feeling it as much in the TL and am looking at getting a faster vehicle. the G8 is the primary choose but the 135 and the Cadillac CTS are also my other chooses.
well so long TL'ers and hope that Acura will come out with a great next gen that will satisfy my taste.
Thanks Acurazine your great.

^^why's it funny? Is 390+ lb/ft of torque not good enough to qualify as "American muscle?"

And I just can't come up with any "series of events" that would force a 17 year old to ditch a perfectly good TL-S for a G8 GT, which I also think is great, but... why? I'm thinkin he chose the G8 because its available with a manual transmission, cause there aren't any HEMIs with manual transmissions at the moment. And if by S/C Mustang you mean the Shelby GT500KR.... well good luck finding one.

A TL-S is not fast enough for a 17 year old? All I have to say to the OP is be careful and learn to respect your belongings.

OP,

You want to switch from a TLS to a CTS? Because you want more power? LOL!

(I hope you mean the Caddy STS)

You are shopping for an American muscle, but forgetting all the luxuries you have in the TL-S....You'll be back.

Good Luck.

PS Or maybe your parents are just getting rid of the TLS?

I'm interested to hear about these "luxuries" that you're saying TL-S has that the G8 GT does not.

I Go To Costco,

Pay attention in school, especially in your English class!

I'm discussing CTS...read, re-read, and then read it again before you post.

Alright then. What does the TL-S offer that the CTS does not? Oh and as for paying attention in English class....

There is a huge difference between TL-S and GT8, one it's a 'family' sedan, the other one is a born race mobile....

A combo of generous power and entry luxury = Acura

A pure adrenaline rush with GT8 = HOT (but not practical, at least for me)

CTS = my coworker is rocking a 2008 one, he hates it with a passion, and I can easily see why, cheap plastic interior, rattles, excessive road noise, and it drives like crap.

Edit: But the CTS does look sexy, exterior wise, as do most of American cars...

Cosco, why did you get a TL?

Cosco, why did you get a TL?
If I remember all those complaints early on with 3G TL owners of annoying rattles? The new CTS is one of the most quietest cars on the road today... Maybe he got the performance package, but still. And I still fail to see what the TL-S offers that the CTS does not.

At the time it was a good value compared to other cars in the market, but now things changed. I actually got rid of a TL for what you would call American muscle, never would look back. I'm not trying to start anything, but go to the Car Talk section of the Off-Topic forums on Acurazine. Not many people there have Acuras anymore....

Just to make things clear I drove an 03 TL-S, but it was my mom's, and I persuaded her to get one. It was a great car aside from the potential transmission problems. I had my heart set out on a manual 04+ TL but I realized there were other, better and/or cheaper options. I'm just trying to help.

Costco I understand what you are saying..... it's all good.

I guess the real reason why I chimed in this thread, is 286hp for a 17 beginner driver not enough?

(Or, maybe I'm just getting old....or cheap...lol...wish the gas prices were the same as when I was 17, I would def. rock any American powerhouse.)

I agree.... when I first started driving I had half of that much power.

Some people are lucky I guess.

I wish you luck... At least in Fla you don't have to worry about the G8 being rear wheel drive.

alright guys its about time i come back into this conversation...

well first of all thx for the comments, second of all yes im a shity speller.
concerning the gas issue...i don't really have one i work at an import export buisness over the weekends and most of that money goes towards gas anyways. and i 17 and i know "what this kid doesn't think that 286hp isn't enough???" well it isnt alright im one of thoes people that if nothing planed for the night ill go out and fnd abandond streets/highways and try to beat my best time/speed. i would be doing it on a track but im not old enough!!!!!!
and yes one of the reasons why i did whant the G8 is because of all the power that come with a manual transmition. the reason why im switching auto mobiles is because i was at a bbq and some one stole my keys! apparently one of the kids at my school saw the keys and ran. a little while later i find the TL-S stuck abov a fire hydrante. I know why didnt i say this earlier...whatever. any ways the kids going to fully pay for it, and i begged my dad to just take the money and resell the car. mind you my car had less then 3000 miles we got a deal from a man in orlando for 34K and i toke it.(not fix) so with the 34k and the 2-3k the kid needs to pay me im back at where i statred.
i know the acura has a sick interior annd alol the gadgets but im looking for more can you guys suggest any car around 42<30 thx.
O and by the way i do agree the jeep srt is an insane car and it has been added to the list along with the G37.

(jeep srt,G37,G8 GT,.....)

Not the regular CTS. Get the CTS-V. A friend works at Katech Engineering, and they have a package for the CTS-V for about 20K, gives 675 WHP, updated clutch, suspension, interior, and the best OMFG factor. I watched as they scattered the rear diff on one ( the customer didn't think that 675 WHP was enough, they were pushing about 775 WHP).

actually the s/c mustang is not the shelby gt 500 kr.....thats just the Knight Rider edition....you can get a regular Shelby GT 500 Mustang around $50K if the dealer didn't mark up...you might as well get a used z06 for the same price...i'd rather wait for 2010 cars to come out...acura's supposed RWD CL, RL, v10nsx....awd tl....its worth the wait..
