Are we snobs?
Friend of mine from fl moved back to nc I was showing her my ride which she likes allot. she said you dont see to many of these on the rd around here and the ones you do have snobs driving them lol. she was semi joking but only semi... I would agree that I get some odd looks sometimes.
I drive it because i like it and I usually just keep the 20% tint rolled up anyway.
On a side note I think I did have a type-s give me the mine is better than yours. he probably had auto tranny

if you have something better than someone else, you automatically become a snob. So many folks around me changed when I got the 760. I've even gotten that it's way to nice of a car to have and some other tasteless comments. The best thing to do is just think that you worked hard for it and now you get to play while the others played first and are now working hard.

The TL is not much more than your average 4 door sedan. I dont think you can classify such a car as having snob owners. More specialty cars such as Corvettes, certain BMW's, exotic owners etc etc, but a Honda built 4 door car? yeah no. With my C6 Z06 which is obviously a pretty damn flashy looking machine, I had no issues with that. Owning it was an amazing experience especially with the huge corvette community..waving to every other corvette was kinda fun I thought. Always got compliments on it and nothing negative.

I see TL here all the time, just regular and practical people here. We are drowned out by bmw and mercedes, aston martins and corvettes here though. So here it is nothing special

TL's are a dime-a-dozen around here. If I stood at a busy intersection, I'll bet I'd count 5 TL's in one red-light cycle. Maybe more.
But some other places, not so much. So I can see where some people might think, "Oh, look. One of those fancy-pants Honda's. Bet he thinks he's something special." And some other people (TL owners) might kind of get caught up in that and start to beleive it.
But on the whole, the people here don't strke me as "snobs".
Well you were such a nice guy until you went all uptown with the Bimmer. I mean now it's all, "Bearcat get me another Perrier", "Bearcat make me a sammich", "Bearcat drive me to the airport and make it snappy. If you don't pick it up, I'll find someone who can".
You've changed man.

Are people not aware what the average cost of a new vehicle in the US is? It's currently at $30k and when the UA6 TL's came out it was around $27k. the price for a new TL during that time was $35k with Type-S models a bit above that. Bottom line is that the TL is just slightly above your average (price-wise) so if someone in a TL is driving around acting like they're some big shot, the reality is that they're likely just a huge douche bag with an unwarranted over inflated ego. and don't think i'm trying to put down the TL in anyway whatsoever; i'm merely speaking in terms of the cost of the vehicle and nothing more.

Snobbery is a state of mind manifested by one's actions. Pretentiousness made evidence by ostentatious behavior, imagined or real. Snobbery can also be a perception caused by projection which can be due to envy.
We have all know pretentious people who are obvious in their pretentiousness. In my mind, genuine snobs are hollow people, best left to their own devices and avoided, lest one gains a measure of this anomaly. Best to let people this mingle with their own kind as humility is a rare commodity among their ranks.

snob's? no those are the bmw doods.
but i do think most modded TL owners put themselves on a pedestal. more than likely because its the best they've had, but doesn't mean it is the best.
snob's have nothing to do with money. money just makes it easy. i think snob's without spare cash are just considered cynical assholes.

Snobs? I guess you haven't had the pleasure of someone in a BMW drive behind you! Total douchebags who think the world revolves around them, "Oh Oh look at me! I'm in a BMW so out of my way!" then ride your ass endlessly.

Who do I always see darting in & out of lanes here in NJ? Driving aggressively? Cutting people off? Tailgating? 80% of the time its someone in a BMW. The TL/TLS is a nice entry level luxury car, it in no way says: I'M RICH. I don't pretend to be something I'm not.

I think I'd be more of a snob if I drove a GTR.

Note to TVL65: relying on misconceptions and stereotypes is a recipe for disaster.
ETA: And made-up statistics too (see below).

"80%" huh? Do you have an empirical study to back that up? If so, I'd love to see the data.

My proof? Yea the garden state parkway, NJ turnpike & rte 287 thats my proof & I drive over 20,000 miles a year. More proof? Very close cop friend of mine here in NJ. Take a 20 yr old with rich parents who just bought them a new BMW & mix in "I'm spoiled" and tell me the end result? Yea, there are other jerkoffs driving like that but the top of the list is BMW.
