Warranty Question.. About to buy a 07 TL-S 52k mileage
I am about to purchase a 07 TL-S with 52k miles on it. I really would like to have a warranty on it.
Purchasing it from a Honda dealer and they said I should be able to get an acura care warranty extension if I buy the warranty the same day?
Is this true? Otherwise what other options do I have for extending the warranty?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I was always under the impression that the ext. warranty had to be purchased before the mfg warranty expired but I could be wrong. If it's a CPO, then the warranty should be extended already.

It's over 50K mile so you can't get Acuracare. I spent $1600 on that 4 years ago for my 04 and never used it once. I'd say just go over the car really well and make sure nothing is wrong with it. You can purchase a warranty from another company.

good luck skplex, i got the 100k warranty when i got my 07 tl-s, had 35k when i bought it and now i have 41k.
you may never need to use the warranty, but it's nice to have. and for an extra $20 on top of my car payments each month, it's worth it to me.
it all comes down to the "you never know" scenario. will this warranty ever eventually pay for itself? i have no idea, but i'd rather have it and need it than need it and not have it.

I will have 2 TLs over 100K in the next year. Neither one of them has ever needed anything that a warranty would cover. This includes the previous owners since I got all of the receipts.
My 2004 did get a recall, but that would have been covered without the warranty.
If you are handy at all, then I would not do it. Even if something breaks, you can probably take the $1000-2000 on parts and come out ahead if you can install them.
There is a reason that these warranty companies can have such nice offices, employees, high salaries, advertising and still cover the claims...

Well.. I ended up going for a different car; I was settling for a WDP, but finally found a Black on Black 08 TL-S with 33k... still under warranty. Finalizing the deal tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the help.
