If your going to do it tell him to keep the pattern ...was it glossy or matte?

Any of you guys close to Ontario Calif? We need a test car so they can make a pattern .. I have a second possible supplier who can supply and if local can install.

 

Well gang .. as you can see this thread was started in Nov .. its now March and no progress.

The guy I started to work with on this has given excuses and it is always "next week" .

I sourced another vendor and a test car and as with the first the vendor was gung ho at the start and to date no progress and very slow responses.

I don't know what to do next .. its tough trying to coordinate things from this far away.

Maybe someone close to a source might be able to get the ball rolling on a place that would make a pattern and sell the overlays.

Sorry guys. I'm at it this week, promise. I had a nasty crash in my NSX over a week ago. I was beat up pretty bad, but I'm ok. Again, my sincere apologies to you guys. You entrusted me in getting this done, so I will finally complete it. My origional test car no longer exists, so its been pretty tough getting another one. So if there is anyone in the San Diego area interested in being my test car. Please email me. Templates will be done this week. Hood will probably run 50 plus shipping. I'll need to look into the bumper piece. Again, my sincerest apologies.

I got a local guy in Whitestone, NY who specializes in overlays and vinyl graphics. He installed my overlay for me. I spoke to him tonight and forwarded him this thread. He said he can probably get different colors (carbon fiber, matte, glossy, etc). I (or he) will try to keep you guys updated

Now getting back to business! The hood and bumper templates are done! Dale, did you want these? Call me when you get a chance. Just need them test fitted . As far as my roof overlays go, see my thread in the black market forum. There are pics on a silver tl . Please email me guys for more info .

Also want to say thanks for hanging in there. I've been going through a lot of personal problems since last june. Although I like to keep my personal life private, I think in this case I need to give u guys alittle insight on why its taken this long. Marital problems, and now separated from the mrs. Tough, especially with a 4 year old and a two year old. Then crashing my nsx :/. So, I need to concentrate on my work and vinyl again. Thanks again for hanging in there!

Ok Gang ... Blue Batmobile sent me a couple pix for the hood overlay he will have available in a week or so .. He still has to get back to me with prices.

I "think" it will be available with or without the front bumper piece.

The pix are with a mat finish but it will also be available in the default gloss black. And I'm sure if we talk nice maybe also in carbon fiber look vinyl.

Soon as I hear that its available and a go I'll let you know..

Well gang I give up .. I started trying to get an overlay made as of 23 Aug 2009 and to date I have had nothing but excuses and delays and even got screwed over by a second vendor trying to come up with something.

I have had nothing but delays, lack of responses and excuses and still no overlay.

It took till early May to recieve a 2 piece overlay instead of a 1 piece and I have returned it .. to date no replacement .. and very poor communication and just delays .

I have it cronologically documented but see no need to post it here.

What does it do to the paint over the years underneath?

What if you want to remove it?

Don't hold your breath .. I worked on this over a year and am still waiting for the overlay.

Not a good idea if you don't take care of your car .. vinyl is soft and can be scratched.
