Vin # with build date?
#5
I guess Navi is HOT HOT HOT now... so dealers may not know if they will get their Navi 04TL on time by their own schedule...
IMO, if the delays in November/December really pushed back some Navi orders, Acura will not issue another VIN in advance...
Usually dealers should get their VIN info as long as Acura Headquarters confirms their ordering details. Dealers apparently submits their order list 2-4 months ago...
For example, I pre-ordered my car in September, at the same time I picked up my desired color, I got my built-date (10/12/03) and VIN# from their computer. Meanwhile, I can see all of cars with VIN# in their October/November list, which probably approve my theory.

I thought that the dealer had told me that when the build date was determined that the VIN would also be available. However, this week when I was given my build date at the end of Feb, I was told the VIN wouldn't be available until the TL was actually off the line and heading to the carrier/rail yard. I guess I simply misunderstood. Everything else with this dealership has been top notch so I am glad that this is consistent with what others are being told rather than the dealership changing something on me.
