Vibration, Drone, Exhaust Resonance... whatever it is...
Since more and more ppl talking about the exhaust resonance could be one of factors causing this 1500 rpm vibration, I saw this over TOV, posted by sparkyg,
I have some experience with the drone on a 2004 MDX. The whole vibration in the floor and drone at 2000 RPM (for the MDX) was a result of poor exhaust isolation from the vehicle. Acura has acknowledged the problem and are issuing a TSB on the change. As a short term fix the dealer removed the rubber hanger from the first muffler and added spacers to the bracket on the very front exhaust near the flexible coupling. These changes removed the drone and the vehicle was perfectly quiet.
I got the tip from acuramdx.org. I know the drone has been very well reported on many links but I am not sure if this fix has been tried. I know some owners tried changing the exhaust system, so too did some MDX owners and the noise persisted. The rubber isolators just do not seem to do good job isolating the vibration/noise. On the 2004 MDX there was also some welded weights on the main exhaust pipe that was possibly Acura's attempt at a fix to try to change the vibration/resonance of the whole exhaust system. The 2003 models did not have this little engineering afterthought. I can understand everyones frustration and I hope to see a fix soon given my pending purchase of a TL this spring.
Cheers!
What do you think? Anyone heard this story from dealers before? Thanks.

The problem is dealers won't start to try this unless receiving the TSB or Advisory information from Acura.
I just wonder if anyone ever tried this by their own cost.
