Very low mileage '08 KBP Type S (13K) on Craigslist local to me.
Stumbled upon this 08 KBP Type S locally to me in the Chicago area. The add looks like it's put together well and it's a one owner vehicle. I know it's not the car for those looking to spend as little as possible on a Type S, but I can assure you there ain't gonna be many left with this mileage. For some reason his add does not specify which transmission it has, so that leads me to believe its probably automatic. Even has a transferable extended warranty. Just looking out for my fellow aziners because these low mileage examples won't be around forever.

If there is someone on the forums that is serious about this vehicle, I would possibly be willing to check it out for you if need be.
Edit: I just got a reply back from him and it's ebony/silver interior with automatic transmission.

It's really not that old, and considering it has as low miles as most new 2013 and even 2014 vehicles, it's a bargain. Think about it, how much would a new 2014 cost that would be sort of like the modern Type S? Let's say a new IS350, you can't touch anything under $40,000 these days. So your getting a relatively high end vehicle for low to mid 20's. I had no problem whatsoever spending 23k on my Type S with 4,900 miles a few months ago. She's now pushin 9,000 miles and don't regret it one bit. It's kind of funny to know that most 2014's on the road have more miles than my Type S that was put in service in late 06 lol. That's why I felt it necessary to post up this KBP S because it's a rare find.

Exactly, I understand the low mileage, but at 24.5k, its not worth it. You can have a Ford Focus ST fully loaded for that price.

So, you can get a 3G Type S for $24.5 w/ 13.5 K miles or a new Furd with zero miles, lemme think. Nope, I'm not trading my 3G with 73K miles for a new Furd Focus, totally different class of car, plus those Furds are always getting repaired.
I just checked NADA for a price on this Type S, clean retail is $24,625, so this guys price is pretty close...

Just please explain how it's not worth it. It's a reliable, attractive, fun, low mileage quality vehicle for a fraction of what it cost new. There is not a single new car you can buy these days that would be in a similar class or equivalent to the Type S for anywhere even remotely close to this Type S price. And no, please don't compare a new focus to a mint low mileage Type S, because I have a feeling it's safe to say your the only one on the forums that would rather be driving a new Focus over a low mileage KBP Type S.

Well although he did leave out two important items, I do not consider that a poorly put together add. I have seen some adds on Craigslist that will make you wonder how the person can even buy a car. A poorly put together add is one where every other word is misspelled, the description is one sentence long, the picture of the car is dirty parked in an alley next to a dumpster. This guy put his number in the add and responded to my text within 5 min.

sounds like a scam to me... get a carfax before you buy it. when i was looking around for a 3G i checked on craigslist and thought I saw such a good deal, 07 type S with 60k miles for 16ish, and i checked the carfax, the dude bought the car in florida with more miles than it had on it when he was selling it to me. so yeah, i'd say 80% of craigslist ads are risky and to do two things: get a carfax, and take it to an acura dealership and get it all checked out for 100 bucks...

Why does it sound like scam to you? The guy even listed his phone number and VIN right in the add. He replied to my text within 5 minutes with answers to my questions and pictures. Doesn't get anymore legit than that. That's what everybody said about my Type S. It's gotta be a scam, nope! While everyone was saying its BS I was already on the phone with the guy making arrangements to buy the lowest mileage 6mt Type s in the country. Sure there are scams on Craigslist, but it's also an incredibly good tool to buy and sell items. I have bought multiple cars from Craigslist as well as countless other items with huge success.

all i'm saying is make sure you get a carfax. i've tried to buy cars on craigslist many times and when i did a carfax (i spent over 100 bucks on like 8 cars) 2 were salvaged titles, one was in an accident in indiana but didn't have a salvage title, and 6 had the mileage rollbacked.

fyi: carfax isn't the savior for auto buying - there are ways to keep things from being reported.
x2 on it not sounding like a scam. it's fine to be skeptical and distrusting but there are absolutely no red flags, despite not having pics (not really a red flag, if you're interested go see it in person).

Nice but if it has tan interior, blah not worth it.

It seems odd that the ad does not have any pictures to substantiate the mileage or the condition of the car. Really, how hard is it to post a few pictures from one's cell phone? I would feel a little better if I saw some pictures with a picture of the VIN too. Tread careful.

Care to post them? Wish I could upgrade to a Type-S, very rare in SoCal for a low mileage type-s. CA in general has ads with cars with higher than average miles.

I would expect to see the receipts for any oil changes or maintenance work, the original window sticker, all the keys, along with a sales brochure. With that low mileage there might be 2-3 oil changes and perhaps a tire rotation. If he can produce a picture with that stuff, I would be more impressed. Still makes me wonder why somebody serious about selling a car would NOT post the pictures to begin with- very strange.

It's kind of funny how skeptical people on this forum are. Why is it so hard for people to believe that this is a legit vehicle for sale? It's 13,000 miles, not 13! Why does everything have to be a scam? It's just another TL for sale that has lower miles than all the rest nothing else to it.
Also, not everyone takes their car to the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. I wouldn't let those people touch my car that's why I do all my own basic service. So for example if I listed my 07 Type S right now with 8,900 miles. I would technically not be able to reproduce proof of the oil changes I have done. Oh and btw the seller of this 08 Type S does have service history available for any potential buyer to see. Again, it's as simple as contacting the seller.
Anyway, I'm done defending this guys add and car lol. Only reason I'm doing it is because just like when a post was made about mine for sale with 4,900 miles, everyone was yappin about how it must be a scam, all in the mean time I was making arrangements to go buy it. So for potential serious buyers, don't let a deal like this slip through all because some people online think it must be a scam when it's not.
If you want the lowest mileage KBP/ebony Type S available in the country now , this is it.

Cruisin'
I would have jumped all over that if it was this time last year. I bought my KBP Type-S with 49K in the south suburbs of Chicago before it even had a for sale sticker on it. A friend of mine works at Rizza Acura in Orland and called me saying that the car came in and was about to be put out for sale - I was in there and bought it before it even got listed.
If this car was legit with 13k and I hadn't yet bought my car (and I was in Chicago) I would be calling and heading to check it out...
