Vent thing near third brake light

Vent thing near third brake light
I got my windows tinted and when I was checking out the tint job I noticed a small vent/mic near the third brake light. I did not have this in my 04 and I checked out an 06 and it does not have it either. What is it?

This was breifly mentioned in a thread else. IIRC, this is one of the mic's that measure sound/noise for the Active Noice Cancellaiton in the TL-S.
