In less than six months here in the Round Rock-Austin area, the number of 3G TLs' out here have tripled. I see them all over the place now. That says alot to me when it comes to this car.

I hardly see any TLs up here.....in fact "zero" today. I see more G35s. Everywhere I go I find one or two in a parking lot

Yeah but how many of those commuter TLs have a body kit or anything neat about them? The fun for me is creative expression with the car, even if some others have done the mods or gotten the wheels I got, it's still choices I get to make and that's what makes it fun for me.

I live in Franklin Twp (Somerset) and yes indeed!! TLs are EVERYWHERE!!! I see less Altima 3.5s and Accord V6s than TLs around here.

I feel exactly what your goin through. It's funny though because I got mine when they first came out and for a while I was feelin like the shit. Everybody's like "Damn nice car how much and how fast and yada yada..." NOW everybody and their granma has a TL. In a way though I wish I had waited cuz I coulda used the extra cash from some type of deal to do a mod on my car. I see cats now who go cop a TL and then put rims on it right away. Oh well guess I caint hate on em too much, but I still hate that I see so many of em are around... come to think about it, if the demand for TL's is so high, how come there's only so much we can do to mod em up? Seems they should have a whole lot on the market right now...

This morning before work I made it a priority to see how many TL's I see on my 1 hr drive to work.. I saw TONS of cars.. X5's, 3 series, VW's, etc.. and only 1 TL with no kit. Maybe its because I live in TX and trucks are a popular choice.

287....i cant agree with you more on that....that's where i saw tons of them and started this post and my rants..........today on the way to my rotation, i saw 2 anthrite TLs next to each other follwed by me and other TL right behind and saw another TL coming from other side also..........to make the long story short, i stepped on my accelerator and sped by everyone.......

got me thinking......the reason i think i hate seeing so many TL is because i see a lot of grannies and moms driving the TL (no offense...)......so why not bring back the TYPE S?????!!!!!!! so people who are buying the TL for the most bang for the money could get regular TLs...and people who want more performance could get the TYPE S.........just a thought......

Charlotte - the land of BMW's and TL's...2G's everywhere, 3G's starting to become just as popular...I see 2-3 a day...thankfully, 99% of them are bone stock...only a handful have a spoiler of some kind, one had the body kit, one was full ASPEC...makes mine special!

....I have to say that as many TLs as there may be here in central NJ, A-specs aren't too common.

Move to a small town in the middle of nowhere, Colorado. I'm pretty sure I'm the only TL owner here. Heck, I don't even know if there are any other Acura's here.

Haha so true... Acura doesn't seem to be very popular here. I'm in Denver, and I still don't see as many TL's as I used to when I was in MI.

CO is overrun by scoobies and jeeps...

....and just for the record, without East Asian Indians Toyota Camry LE sales would drop about 70% here in NJ.

And it would seem for Honda Accord too, and to a lesser extent Nissan Maxima!

Most of the Maximas around here seem to be driven by African American males (yours truly included in that demographic).

While wer are talking about demographics... has anyone noticed the acura CL has sold very well to african americans? Just something I have seen watching people and the cars they drive.

And I gotta agree, once you put the body kit on a TL it's already pretty rare. Lower it and get new wheels and you won't be mistaken for "the average TL" !

hahahaha. Well the bought the townhouse b/c they wanted a home in Jersey still, and they figured it'd be better for someone to live there while they're in Vegas, so they let me live there And since I live off campus, I need a car to drive to school, to which they offered me the ML320, but my dad actually wanted to get rid of it, so i persuaded them to trade it in for a 6spd TL. My dad loved the car when we test drove it (he hadn't driven stick in almost 20 years!), so we got it

Vent away , but not for nothing I get approached at least once a week telling me what a great car I have, and perhaps that is why there are so many. I also see many Boxters, 540s, 911s, S classes out there. Time to do one of two things. First, individualize your car and make it one of a kind, or save up that money and buy a Gremlin. Both will make you stand out in a crowd!

AGREED. Perhaps I should've made myself more clear. Waaaaaaaaaaa Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. While people are hoping they have a place to sleep tonight thanks to the recent hurricanes I (you) P & M about the amount of TLs on the road. Am I the only one who finds this only just a bit annoying?????

then dont read...i am just expressing my feelings about how i felt when i saw lots of TLs in my area and i believe i am entitled to do so.....and in case you havent noticed, this forum is for the TLs owners to talk about whatever issues that they have...if we follow your logic about hurricane katrina..then nobody should be talking about their cars during this time...i mean for example who cares about the rattling noise from the dash when there's people who have no place to sleep because of katrina.....and for your information, i have done a clothing drive and donated some money thru my company....wonder what you did....

I see a lot too. Almost as bad as many G35's I used to see when I was deciding between the two. One of the reasons I got the TL was because at that time their weren't that many on the road...go figure.

While I see a lot, I know very few are 6MT's Navi like mine, so I guess that gives me some comfort.

I guess one route to go would be to add upgrades to make the TL even more unique from the 100000's of others that are out there.

SJK, merely expressing my opinion, as are you. I guess what I am trying to say is at age 24 (not trying to sound like my father) I would have been more than thankful to have a incredible sports/luxury car. I am also happy that you are doing your part to help those in need (although I did not inquire about that). But, all I am asking is what would you like anyone to do about your unfortunate malady?? A rattle is a technical issue, something that those who have experienced it can make suggestions to fix, finding yourself awash in a sea of TLs is not fixable and won't be earning my sympathy any time soon.

I was in New Jersey recently and I noticed a lot more TL's then here in California and I also noticed about 75-80% of them had east indian men driving them. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Bought my TL 2 weeks before my son got his Driving permit. I notice more TL's only because I have one now. I'm pretty sure he likes driving this TL compared to my old Accord. Around here, mostly older couples are driving em. Don't see many younger guy/gals driving. Amazed at how many younger drivers are on this site. Must be nice to have great paying jobs or RICH Parents. Probably the latter!

Hate to break it to you...

but the TL is a PRODUCTION car. That means they come out of the factory like pez and people buy them because they are good cars and well priced. Be glad you are on of the smart ones that didn't buy a Shit box.

If you want to be different, buy a car over $100,000 or paint "I'm a geek" on your rear window. That will get attention and be different all for $3.49 for paint or show polish !

:-)
