To my suprise I noticed that my trunk lid is misaligned. You have to bend down behind the car to see. The way I was able to tell is by comparing the spacing between the bottom portion of the trunk lid and the upper portion of the bumper. the spacing varies from one side of the car to the other. Why on a 35K car? I called the dealership to let them know.What are the sounds other tl owners are hearing when they close their trunk lids? Hopefully this is an easy fix. if this doesn't get resolved i will mention the name of the dealership.

I dont have this problem but it doesnt sound hard to fix. Take it to your dealership and make them fix it. Its unacceptable that you're trunk is not closing correctly. A few questions thoughh...Does the trunk fly open if you drive it or does it close but just misaligned

When I open AND close my trunk there is a weird clash sound. No problems with it though. /shrug

Some 04TLs got mis-aligned doors, too...

A misaligned trunk is one of the easiest fixes out there. I had a similar problem with my 2001 CL and it was fixed in a matter to minutes.
