There is DIYs here with the tools you will need. but in general a drill, cant remember bit size, Philips & flat tip screwdrivers, stubby Philips, 10mm deep socket maybe a 12mm also cant remember. 3m double sided tape. There is prob a few more things.

You also might want to pick up some of those plastic bumper fasteners in case you get frustrated and break a few, the white clips on the side skirts break sometimes too if they are brittle.

To save you some time, from what I've searched and read, you'll need at least a 2007-2008 Base front bumper to make the Type-S front. Here's a DIY for that:

Edit:
Looks like this guy mounted a Type-S front lip on a 04-06 bumper. You might want to PM him.

Questions about the kit are asked quite often so I thought I would create one thread to answer all A-Spec lip kit questions.
[*]The Type-S A-Spec front and rear pieces can fit on Base TL bumpers. Modifications will have to be made to do so since the bumpers have different overall shapes and since the Type-S rear bumper has wider exhaust outlets.[*]BOTH 04-06 and 07-08 Base front lips will fit a Type-S, but modifications will have to be made[*]ALL A-Spec sideskirts are the same. There is NO difference between 04-06 Base, 07-08 Base, and 07-08 Type-S A-Spec sideskirts. Part numbers and paint codes may differ but they look identical and install the same way.[*]ALL 04-08 Base rear lips are the same.[/LIST]
3G Garage worthy?

Base model A Spec concerns
So is there a different between the 04-06 base model front a spec lip prior to the 07-08 front a spec lip? I seen the front lip on on a few 07-08 models and it looks somewhat different and better to me so i just wanted to make sure. If so, what kinda modifications will I need to do to make the 07-08 base a spec kit fit?

I know this is about to make me sound like the dumbest person ever. I just bought my '07 TL Type S last Saturday. It was not listed as having the A Spec on it and I even looked at the original sticker and it didn't say that it had the A Spec package on, so that obviously means that it was added on at some point but I do not know when. My question is does this add any value to the car or since it didn't come from the factory as A Spec, does it just add the aesthetic value to it? If it does add value money wise, how much value would it add to the book value?

It would add a little bit of value to the car when resell time comes around. I'd imagine that you would get more money out of it when selling to a person instead of a dealer. You could probably ask for about $300-500 more since it has the lip kit. Do you have the A-Spec suspension as well? If so, you may could get even more out of it.

Well, on the struts, their should be a part number. If you can jot that part number down and look it up in google, that should tell you if it's a-spec or not. Or take a tape measure and measure from the ground to the bottom of the fender and report back here with what you got.
