I love the interior of my anthracite TL. In particular, I love the subtle patterned silver trim on the sides of the center console. Today while driving (just hit 3000 mi) I noticed a small blimish on the edge of the trim about even with my right knee that appeared to be a grease-like smudge. I rubbed it with my finger and it still felt gummy-grease-like. Anyway, what I realized was I was rubbing off a finish, leaving a small smooth silver spot. I guess I assumed the metal strip was "machined" into the pattern...not an applied effect. I cannot image a repair for this...I am guessing I will have to figure out a way to cover it up. Again...this is a small area on the outer (toward the driver) edge of the finish piece...not the larger surface which faces up. :'(

That is really unfortunate! I love that textured pattern as well.
I would suppose that if gets really bad, you can rub it all off and just live with the smooth
silver.
I'm going to check mine out when I get in the car later.

Saw my service advisor... he related the obvious... about it is an applied surface, but...and here comes the good part...he is going order me a replacement piece. The dealer is Acura of South Florida...and everything from negotiating a good price to my experience today has been great!
