UA6 headlights on ebay w/ "euro all clear corner lens"

Not sure if I'm late to the game on this since I haven't been on here as religiously as when i first started, but while tinkering on ebay I found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...item2306506287

Anyone seen this, or bought these from this seller? Wondering what's the scoop on em...

I appreciate the looking out 05TLdcc, but actually already have some modded headlights <see avatar>. I was actually posting this in reference to those I know who were interested in exactly what this seller was offering i.e. black housed headlights with the clear corner. I was also wondering if anyone had actually seen these before and was curious of overall quality.

Overall just found it interesting that what looks to be an aftermarket company finally got around to making 3rd gen TL headlights and actually listened to public requests instead of making some aftermarket stockies or ugly junk.

Those are pretty nice, but the price is kind of steep. I guess if you sell your stock headlights for a good price this would be a decent investment. Good for someone who can't find anyone local to mod it for them or if you can't ship them out to jnc either.

Seems sketchy to me as more than half of their photos are b/w.
Interesting how they say 'black housing' but there's still silver/chrome in there...

Also they state "* HID for the Low Beam is Pre-Installed as stated in the above. In addition, the headlights require 9006 for the High Beams, which we have included a new pair for you. Designed for direct bolt on." but any TL owner knows that the headlights are bi-xenon and the 9006 are fogs...

well even modded, theres no ALL CLEAR diffuser. they are clear front and amber sides. They look sick imo. 600 bucks for NEW headlights is not pricey. I've never heard/seen these so i dont know if any fitment issues but someone has to be the guinea pig one day lol

You can remove the amber pieces in the Type-S lights... It becomes 'all clear' then.

But you are correct. 600 bucks for new headlights aren't pricey...
Curious as to what kind of projectors they used and how prone the headlight-cover is to yellowing.

True and not true. It becomes AMBER-LESS.

Diffusers with amber removed painted black.

installed but Blacked out.

Ebay Stock photo

blacked out TL-s but diffuser untouched

Rodney's headlights with type-s diffusers but the amber painted silver

As for JNC being able to do it for half the price??? maybe if you already have type S headlights. it'll be easier for anyone to buy these or typeS headlights than what what it would be to find a set a Type S diffusers for sale. I remember they sold for over $200 1 time in the BM. Nobody sells these as they are rare. so if you gonna buy new headlights, 600 for 04-06 with the euro clear VS (from acura) 800 for type S headlights with new fog housing, i would just go Type S and remove the amber as well. But if i wanted to stay 04-06, then it would be these VS canadian 04-06 with the type S diffusers. I would still then go with canadian cuz they are OEM unless someone tries these and comes back with some good reviews.

Like Komodo said , i would worry about the lense and the projectors.

The clear difuser on this is not just the same difuser that comes in the Type-S headlights with the amber reflector removed. It actually has white reflectors on it which is the first time I've seen this and is HUGE becasue that means that someone out there is actually making this part that so many of us have been looking for FOREVER!

Now, I don't know if those difusers are made like that, or the white reflector piece was made and it just replaces the amber reflector...which then is not that big of a deal...

He does say 9006 high beams which sounds shady, but if you go on Sylvania's website to the bulb replacement guide, it doesn't list those lights as "fog lights" in the 04-06, it lists them as high beams, so there's a strong possibility they're going off of that.

The pictures that I see are all in color, not black and white....

I bought a set of halo/projector black housing lights for my GMC Sierra when I had it and dropped only $250 for the pair, why are these so much higher?

My message:

Hello,
I'm a member on Acurazine.com and we have tried for a very long time to create headlights like the ones you're selling for our TL right now. The only part we haven't been able to come across if the clear difuser with the white reflector that you have in your headlight that you're selling. I think that you'll be able to sell many of the headlight sets that you have on Ebay due to the demand, but there are alot of people that have already opened up the headlight, blacked out the housing, and removed the amber difuser, so I don't think they'll be buying the already made headlights.
HOWEVER:
I think that if you were to contact the manufacturer that you're getting these headlights from and find out if they can sell you a bunch of the clear difusers with the white reflector, you might be able to sell ATLEAST 100 pairs on Acurazine.com to the members who already blacked out their lights...I honestly can tell you that the demand is that high.
Let me know your interest.

His response:

Hi,
Thank you for your interest.
We specialize in making the lights, working with manufacturer of course. Since we are selling lights everyday and some of them if you check, with adding LED angel eye rings on BMW lights and so on...etc That we know, everytime opening up the headlight is a risk of condensation in the future. That is the specific reason why we ask manufacturer to sell the clear headlight as the way it was built, to make sure it has the same quality as what it should have been.
Obviously I know at the time, there is no other choice for you guys so many people have already done the DIY themselves, but also because we know there is a demand for it, that is why we make it. So, basically we do not really want to sell the clear difusers with the white reflector as a separate parts, instead to sell a whole unit that won't require "custom" work.
If you guys want to do a Group Buy on this headlight, we will be able to help on the price. We have done the same previously in forum which the quality of the headlight is very good and people love it. And just in case you do not know, we also sell the Type-S look Smoke LED 4 pieces side marker lights and tail light, and also the clear ones too. Plus we have aluminum or stainless look racing pedals, all specifically design for the TL. Let me know if this is something you guys are interested, thanks.
Regards,
Simon

So long story short, doesn't sound promising.

The mods will string my up by my lug nuts if I try to put together a group buy from a non-approved vendor, plus I have no interest in these lights so while I hate to hang you guys out to dry, i'm not doing the leg work on this...I'm already busy with my 2 other full times jobs...lol

However, I did mention to this guy that he should really look into producing these with the 07-08 look, becasue I think that alot of people are looking to upgrade the look of their lights AND clear them out so that would pretty much kill 2 birds with 1 stone...

shit that's alot of money for those. I think I would only get them if I really needed to change both my headlights due to damage from an accident or something. but just to have clear side, 559$, no way.

If you look carefully on the back between the projector and fog light housing openings, it lists all the manufacturing info...looks like it says "DEPO" at the very top...

Also if you look at the front corner of lense...it says "DEPO" but it's kinda blurry. Interestingly enough, 04-06 TL Headlights aren't listed on the Depo website.

The way I see it is that this product is only for people who want to retain the OEM look with JUST clear diffusers and corners....

If you want more done, then you are just opening up the headlight again and that brings you back to square one--you shouldn't have even bought the headlight to begin with then.

A lot of people want to do more than just "clear the diffuser"... they want to smoke out the housing; improve clarity with zkw-r's, add angel eyes, leds, etc... so if you want more than just a clear diffuser, this headlight isn't for you cause then you'll just end up opening it up again.

I'm pretty sure it's for 04-05 ballasts as it says 06 requires slight modification. I'll definitely post some pictures when I receive them and get them installed. The seller is now requesting that I create an installation guide for a $100 reimbursement.

Anyone know what the "minor modification" entails to get these to fit a 2006 model?
