Type S - Rear Bumper Aspec kit Install

Is it weird that ​​​​​I don't have the pre-marked holes labeled on the inside of my factory rear bumper?

sometimes its just really dirty..or your bumper could be aftermarket.

Why would it have an aftermarket bumper? I don't believe that it has ever been in a wreck. It's time consuming as hell trying to match up the zip ties and screws from the Aspec lip to the factory bumper with a tape measure. Very frustrating. I wasn't sure if anyone else had run into this issue. Thanks for the feedback.

Because unless you're the only owner you have no idea of the history of the car? Nor do we because we don't know it either?

Why are you using zip ties?

did you remove the rear bumper? It would likely be a lot easier to install the lip, if you did.

On the Type S Aspec lip (front and back), you have to pull them through the rear bumper in order to secure the two pieces. Yes, I have taken off the rear bumper.

The "zip ties" come attached to the Aspec lips

upload a picture of the inside of your bumper... if its oem, it should have 2 sets of 4 cross hairs etched across the bumper.. the upper 4 is for the backup sensors and the lower 4 are for the lip install

I was able to install it and mount it to the car. Oh, I've seen the crosshairs that you're referencing. They were on the front bumper, which made for an easier install, but they weren't on the back bumper for some reason.

I just installed mine the same time you did yours, at first I thought the same, where are the marks to drill, I had to wash the inside of the bumper, use a white out pen to mark the very faint circles with the dotted crosshairs. The side brackets included didn't make the install easier either, made it a pita at the end as I had to remove both rear wheels to complete the install.

i should of mentioned that too.. i couldnt find the cross hairs so i dragged my gloves across the bumper and wiped all the grime off and there it was, hidden behind all the dirt

also i almost ruined my freshly repainted rear bumper because I was literally 1 second away from drilling a hole for the backup sensors and not the lower cross hairs for the rear lip install.. i had the drill bit right on the mark and my finger on the trigger of the drill when i thought there's no way the rear lip gets installed this high up.. so i decided to check one more time and thats when i found a 2nd set of cross hairs a few inches lower lol... almost made a $500 dollar mistake

Yes, I was lucky to do the front bumper and lip first before the rear. Luckily the cross-hairs were more visible on the front bumper than the rear so I was sure it had to be somewhere on the bumper. I just sucked it up and washed the inside of the bumper so I could clearly mark the spots to drill.
