Two totally different classaes of cars.

The 2nd gen TL vs. a Toyota Celica GT 5spd. Who do you guys think would when. Never raced against one, but I'd be curious about the outcome.

a regular GT is only 140HP and very slow, a 2G TL would destroy it. the GT-S is pretty quick, but still not fast at all and a 2G TL would walk that too.

A bad driver could however affect the outcome of the race, correct?

I think he's asking if the margin of win is big enough to offset any potential margin of reasonable driving error.

I'v smoked a Celica GT before in my 02 TL-p....It was a chick driving it...she thought she was all badass. She gave up real quick cause by the time I hit 70 she was really far back.

never raced a GT-s

Very well worded...

Put it this way, racing in a stock GT or GT-S is like competiting in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded

and yes.. any 2nd Gen TL would comfortably walk a celica.

A 2nd gen could beat the Celica that well eh? So, from a dead stop and even from a 40mph roll? I'm just curious. My step brother drives that and my cousin the RSX. Just wondering if I stood a chance. I knew I had the power, but for me it was really a question of weight to power ratio. Thanks guys.

6 speed RSX-S and 6 Speed GTS is almost dead even except for the 2005 RSX-S which has 10 more hp.

given that RSX-S is just as fast as a TL-S... I'd think the 6 Speed GT-S will beat a TL-P.

The TL-P will win only if the GT-S is an Auto.
The celica's are pretty quick because they are lighter than a Type R even with only 180HP

A TL-P should comfortably pull on even a GT-S 6MT, especially from a roll. The GT-S is light and may get an advantage from a dig, but from a roll weight is no longer an issue and the TL-P has superior horsepower and torque.

6spd GT-S is not even close to as fast as a 6-spd RSX-S. 30HP difference, better gearbox in the RSX-S and about the same weight.

Whick TL, the TL-P or the TL-Type S? Anyway a TL-P will walk a Celica GT without any problems, and the Type S would humiliate it even more.

yeah GTS are nowhere near me on road. (therefore nowhere near RSX-S)
Couple of them tried and I just give nice little gas on the pedal.

its funny cause this morning on I-95 a saw a gray celica coming up real fast in my rearview....traffic was a little heavy but there was an opening on the 2 left lanes...as he came up next to me it was one of those GTS with all the plastic crap on it and the huge wing (TRD kit?). he slowed for a second I downshifted to 3rd and punched it and we were neck and neck for about 3 secs. and then some guy moved into my lane about 50 yrds ahead so I killed it and he kept going like I wasn't moving .

I was pissed! I knew i prob could of took him...u can't full around in morning traffic though...too dangerous ....I would never except these two lanes were open.

that car is ugly with all that plastic crap on it
