update?
Hey any update on this? I just picked up an 07 tl type s and noticed the trunk didn't like to stay up. Since it chopped me in the back yesterday I'd like to take care of it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

very easy to replace. i replace these all the time. only catch is you need a large channel lock plier. you're "supposed" to use the honda special tool but honestly not necessary. helps if you have a friend hold the trunk on top of you just in case but not necessary

Is my symptom a similar problem?
I'll pop the trunk via keyfob or inside cabin switch and trunk stays "shut" but will open w/ a slight lift like it is kinda frictioned. Havn't had it come down after full open position tho
thanks

Safety Car
I think that may be something else.

They might be too strong. The lid would probably spring up like no other. At least that's what my coworker told me when he did it on a customer's car but yes, you can do it.
