Trunk Felt Liner Wet at Base
Hi Guys,
I think almost know the cure to my problem. Basically the liner that runs underneath the actual trunk lid is wet at the base when closed. This is the first time it has happened. I am guessing that it's leaking through the two holes drilled for my OEM lip spoiler. YES, I am the same guy who had some punk try to steal my spoiler but it never even budged. Apparently, there was snow on the trunk which melted and may have seeped through the drilled holes.
Has this happened to anyone? I drilled the holes just large enought to fit the bolt thread and there were O-ring rubber gaskets which should have prevented the water intrusion. I am guessing I need to retighted the bolts or perhaps even add some caulk to really seal off any leaks. Thanks for any info.

Maybe it's possible when he tried to steal your spoiler he tweaked the trunk lid a bit? Could it be leaking from the seal at the bottom or the side? Is your trunk tight and straight?
Try closing your trunk on a piece of paper so the paper sticks out. Then slide the paper all the around the trunk and see if it feels loose anywhere. It may be possible it got tweaked a bit and water is leaking in around the seal.
Or maybe the gaskets between the spoiler and trunk are not sealing well.
I'm just guessing here, but try this and see what you get.

Champcar1,
Thanks for the suggestions. I am open to all ideas. It's definitely possible that the thief did some harm as this has never happened before. Hopefully, it is only the spoiler seals that is leaking. I gotta take off the liner to find out. The tops of the liner near the base of the back window is dry so I am assuming the water is coming through the trunk spoiler.
