Trouble Finding a MT in SoCal these days...

Hey,
First post, but long time Acura Fan boy.

After seeing the new [2009] TL i realized that I should get the 08 some time soon. I've been looking around and there is NO WHERE, that I have checked, in SoCal with a MT.
I have called a couple dealerships and I got different answers about placing an order for a MT. Some say it is to late and Acura is no longer producing 08s any more and some saying they still are. I was under the impression that Acura stopped a while ago. I did with this with my MDX, paying something, and waiting like a month for it to come in.

And then on top of this I would like to wait until Acura releases the 09 to buy the 08, or at least a week before to get the best deal.

So my question is, those of you with MT, how did you get them? By placing an order, or just finding one at the dealership?

Thanks

My guess is that since no plans to produce '09 TL's with MT are in the immediate announced, the current MT cars are going to be extremely hard to find in areas where they're popular because it may be a few years until we see MT TL's again, if ever.
If you really want one, I suggest that you tell your local dealer to expand the search to include neighboring states. You may get stuck doing a pickup or paying for transfer. You can also try internet sales.
As for dealer orders, the dealers may place them at this time, but I doubt they'll get one for you.

Good luck!

Bear in mind as well that with the 2007s and 2008s, you can only get the 6MT on the Type-S; base TLs are slushbox-only. I don't know how many Type-S TLs they manufactured each year, but it's certainly going to be fewer than the number of base TLs, thus further reducing availability.

Supposedly some sort of MT will return in 2010, although the details haven't been announced.
