I acquired a 2005 TL base when my son upgraded to an 08 TL. Car is in decent condition but the transmission is stuck in either second or third gear. It still drives just accelerates slowly and runs at about 3 grand going 65 mph. The fact that it only runs at 3 grand when going 65 mph makes me think that’s its most likely stuck in third gear. Just looking for advice on what my best course of action is? I would really like to save this transmission if possible. I haven’t done anything except replacing the brown and gray switches on the top of transmission with parts from Autozone. That was just a Hail Mary before my son bought the 08 he still has. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
