Tranny oil dirty after less than 10k miles
I changed the transmission oil two regular motor changes ago which is less than 10k miles ago and this morningI check the tranny oil and it's not pinkish. I cleaned with a towel paper and its brownish. Why would the oil go bad so quickly?

atf changes color as its doing its job
So does engine oil- as the oil picks up contaminents--color change
Does it smell burnt?

if you did an atf fluid change with 3 qts you changed about 1/3 of the oil in the trans
Of course its going to change color

3by3 method
i agree. also i called a local shop yesterday and the mechanic says that he doesn't do flushes but drains and refill which is good. cost $67 bucks out the door. what they do is drain it once and add in the 3 quarts (honda z1)...i asked if they did the 3x3 method and they dont but if i wanted them to do it 3 times it would of costed $67x3...thought to myself and hung up the phone

67 dollars to drain 3 qts of fluid and its 30 dollars retail for 3 qts fluid
thats crazy
and I bet his 3x3 doesnt include the correct drive in between
A real 3x3 to remove dex3 if added in an emergency-
takes 12 qts total fluid in
with the trans holding about 8 thats going to get a real fluid cleanout
If concerned over trans health take an oil sample and send to blackstone labs
Trans fluid is drained from under the car- same as engine oil but easier -no spin on filter to change- just remove drain plug- drain the 3 qts it will give up, refill

Sorry for the slow updates, I was super busy at work and couldn't post any replies. Anyways, I don't think it smells burnt or could be my lack of knowledge with car stuff. Which is the brand and model of oil do I buy? Is there a DIY for this? I'll do the 3x3.
