I'm getting married and wifey doesn't want any manual vehicles. I need to part ways with my Manual 2008 NBP Type-S. I am the original owner, wish ya lived closer, b/c i'd seriously consider trading.

OP, are you crazy? It's the same car with a manual transmission and Bremebos. Your currently car looks great. Why are wasting money on a whip you already have?

no

I wouldn't trade it man. You have an 06 that looks great and its a known quantity. I do think the six speed manual MAKES this car, but if I were you I would try to find a higher mileage Type S 6 speed. They are out there, you just may have to travel.

my dad and I inadvertently buy manuals for this very fact. My dad and I are the only ones that will be able to drive our cars.

i'm not sure about the water pump but the timing belt kit from honda is 450. i assume the water pump is another 300 or so.

Idk about the other parts, or if you have your own mechanic perform the service.. however, make sure you get OEM honda parts for the timing belt kit.

Personally, I would never switch the cars just to have an MT. You know your car, how it's been driven and maintained. Any car with which you switch won't have any warranty, and you don't know how it's been maintained or if it was abused. I think it's a bad idea to switch.

x2, I wouldn't take my chances. Might end up costing more.

Generally, a good close inspection to detail and a good "in depth" test drive can usually tell you if the car has issues that you may not want to deal with or that are very costly. If everyone had that mindset, no one would buy used cars. Not to make dealerships sound any more appealing than they already aren't, but when they bring in cars they do inspections on them and if they need something, generally, they will fix it and not sell you a shit car. With or without a warranty, if you buy a car from a dealership that you have numerous or continuous problems with, there is action you can take to "return" that car. Also, there have been lawsuits won that back this up and dealerships know this and will generally work with you. That's more than you can say from buying from an individual.

personally i wouldn't trade an 06 for an 04 with the same mileage for a straight trade just for MT and Nav. I'd sell outright first.

but seriously to say "dont buy another used car because you dont know how it has been treated" sounds somewhat... not informed.

^ ditto. Bought my 04 TL with essentially zero maintenance records (i got it at 51k, last "recorded" service was at 39k). Had it inspected at an indy shop for 75 bucks.

Bought it. Havent regretted my decision one bit. Doing front rotors and pads this weekend! Engine and electronics have been flawless.

so what happened was that i changed the rear main seal and all my engine mounts (i bought new oem ones) this was on monday so we started working on the car tuesday it took me all tuesday until friday morning so we finished up the car i had already seen the 04 Am on wensday so as soon as i finished up my car i just wanted to go straight to the dealer so see again the Am tl and about 8 blocks from my huse this happens, so i called a friend of mine with a tow truck and towed it home, i get home and instantly notice the on the left side spindle the nut on the bottom bushing was smaller than the hole the spindle has so on the first bump i hit i was going about 55mph the spindle pops of and this happened i tried to turn the wheels away from the barricades on the right side of the road but it was impossible

without a doubt id make the trade...wdp is sexy but am looks great especially modded well.

the only thing your losing is black interior and i feel you on that. the main reason i bout my am was cause it had black.

but your gaining 6 spd, less miles and navi. even if navi isnt a big deal to you, its alot of extra value and i doubt anyone will disagree a tl with navi looks 100x nicer than non navi.

your car is modded well but the only thing your losing is the aspec lip kit which can be had for a couple hundred bucks from the vendors.

EDIT: i prob should have gone to page 2 before posting in this thread hahaha sorry bro for your loss

I sure hope anyone at that dealer does not stumble upon this thread.

That happened on a local forum. it went BAD for the guy who traded his car in.

Not saying it will or would happen to you, but still. You never know who is lurking.

I agree you should ask the mods to delete the thread just to be safe and start a new one when you get the car!
