Traded OUT!! to Nissan
Hey guys well after buying and owning 5 Acuras and the lastest was a 03 TLS which I loved.....but after 8 months and buying a home and wanting to go camping....The TL had to go!! I purchased a Nissan Titan which in all rights is a luxury truck with many if not more options than the TL had. and it was cheaper!!

Congratulations, you just bought a truck...
Congratulations, you just bought a truck. Now, what are you gonna do?...Seriously, glad you like it. They are pretty strong but Nissan doesn't hold a great position in the truck market and therefore your resale will drop like a rock. Maybe this new Titan can bring them some recognition.

well i will and have put my Titan up against F150 and Dodge that friends have....NO comparison they suck in fact they suck so much that they both have gone to my salesman and one has ordered his Titan and the other is waiting for the next shipment that has the one he is getting on it.....and this past weekend showed it to two more friends in OK and they are going monday to look at them to see about trading there F250 and F150 in on two of them. This truck will be a wake up call to ford, dodge and chevy! And my resale will be fine....i have been flagged down on the road waved at, yelled at, and stopped by a cop to ask what it was where i got it and if i liked it...and besides im in Texas resale on trucks is not a issue no matter the maker....now the resale on Acura's here not so good in fact it sucks i had to bargin for hours to get a decent price for my car so i wouldnt be upside down...and i got a great deal on my TLS but its value sucked in the end as it has for all 5 I have owned and tried to trade or sell out right......I love Acura but one thing they never hold is resale!!!unless you have a older Acura coupe!

Thats is one ugly automobile. I saw one the other day, and looking at it head on from the front, the lines are really freaking wierd. The bubbly shape around the winshield is odd. But, in the end, my opinion doesn't mean a damn thing for you. Glad you are happy.
BTW...Acura has one of the best overall resale rates in the industry. It must be the hillbilly population in your area that doesn't do Hondas/Acuras. In L.A., they hold their value really, really well, and the Nissan dealers are practically giving the Titans away

I wouldn't say we're bitter.
Just having some fun (at your expense) since you "announced" your switch! All valid items that you mention. I remember being single and having a house, and encountering the same problems ...
Enjoy the ride!

I read a post that one guy wanted to trade in his 2003 Maxima last year with 15k miles and he was offered like $12,000. Nissan has historically had one of the lowest resale values as they make their car rentals and their long-term quality has suffered ever since they shifted production to the U.S. Good luck with your new truck, but don't get too cocky. The critics are saying that its a nice truck but the F150 will hand it to the Titan any day of the week.

This is true...the shape of this one may not do much for me, but the new F150 looks like a joke. Still think its pretty ugly though. Gotta say, the the Ram comment is kinda true. Thats a pretty mean looking truck. All in all, I have never understood owning trucks, so I can't relate to buying one.
As far as the Nissan resale thing....that is so true....they hold their value about as well as any Kia or Geo or Chevy, for that matter.

The New Nissan Titan and the New Ford F150 are both awesome! You couldn't go wrong with either one. The exterior styling may not suit everyone, but both trucks are a leap forward from everything else out there right now, including the nice looking Dodge.
Personally I think the Ford F150 is a better deal, has a nicer interior. And I almost never favor the domestic brands.

Congrats on your puchase man! I personally would've picked a Silverado or something, but yours looks nice. And, hey, you mentioned the great interior. Do you have any interior pics? While you're at it, why don't you shoot a couple more exteriors too
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

My 2001 Maxima SE 5spd loaded after 1 year and 18k of miles was only worth 15k trade in.
Sorry but its true.

Good luck with your truck. I have a Dodge Dakota V-8 as Winter Backup and it has been great (except for gas milage) for 3 years now so your coment about domestics is off base and by the way as said before your Nissan is a DOMESTIC. I'll probably get a Ram 150 HEMI when I trade in the Dakota because I need a 8 foot bed and that seems to be a dieing feature in pickups vs the extra cab. I don't care for the Nissan styling - too much French weirdness for me but to each his own.
