I'm sitting in the service lounge at my Acura dealer right now (they have WiFi Internet access for the customers to use - how cool is that? Try and get that from a Ford dealer!! ). I brought my car in for the 'B' service, but they found that there is an outstanding recall that affects my car ('04 w/ auto trans) - something about the second gear clutch pack. They are going to pull the cover and see if the clutch pack is "discolored" - if it is, they are going to replace the entire transmission.

My car was in here for warranty work a couple of weeks ago, and there was no outstanding recall then (or, if there was, the tech never checked for/saw it) so I'm assuming this is something new? Anyone know anything more about it?

 

That recall has been out for over a month now (they must have missed it before). Glad to hear the dealer is taking care of it for you. WI-FI at the dealer is very cool.

BTW, my car has only 14,000 miles, but from what the service advisor told me they will be doing the "15,000 miles or more" inspection.

 

Good luck with this - with any luck your gears won't be discolored and all you'll need is the oil jet.

 

NO, it's just the coincidence. The friend of mine went there for the service, too. I didn't believe you guys would go to the same dealer...
