Total Racing/ Elf Synthetic? Redline Race Engine oil??

So I usually get my oil changed at the dealership...they put in whatever they have there. Everything so far has been changed by the dealer. I just got my car dropped so they can no longer get it up the lift (I am having a hard time finding a place in central jersey that can align my car ...its only dropped 2 inches). But anyways I am up for an oil change and the shop that I got my coils installed also does oil changes so I know they will be able to lift my car. They have either Total Racing/Elf synthetic or i can opt for Redline Racing Engine oil which supposedly has 10k oil changes. Anyone have experience with either of these 2 products? Is it safe to use for a 2005 TL? Btw I have an auto and have not changed my ATF yet either and will be getting Redline Type F soon.

Did you mean Motul oil? If so, either are fine, just get an appropriate weight. What you were getting at the dealer is a far cry from how good this stuff is.

I'd check on the Red LIne as if it is their Racing oil, it contains less detergents and I wouldn't use it in a DD. If it's their "normal" synthetic e.g. the 5-20 it is SM/CF rated. The Total Quartz Racing 10-50 is also a SM/CF rated oil and both are no problem for the TL although I believe overkill.

I've used the Total Quartz 9000 in my BMW...no problems with it.
