top notch service wink-wink
brought the car in last week due to some undercarriage leakage (07 TL-S 2400 miles)..."it's PS fluid, it'll take a few days to get the parts so take it easy on the driving". Monday i get a message from the CS dept wanting to know how my service was? today i call to find out where my parts were and i was told..."we called you yesterday to schedule an apptmt but you never called back". So i asked what number did you call? the number she said she called was totally wrong!! funny how CS knows the right number but not the service dept? guess their not working off the same computer system.
anyway, i can't get a loaner until Monday...so i guess not driving too much isn't an issue?

Be happy you got a loaner. Some guys (especially the under 25 crowd) don't get one.

Hmm...have you called Acura C/S back yet? If not, when you do, I'd mention this to them. I think that might be interested to hear, and a little embarassed. Also, I wonder why they thought it was done if the work hadn't even been done yet? I wonder if Acura "closes out" the ticket, which notifies C/S?
Regarding the loaner - when I was 22, I brought my 97 CL in for service. They first offered an MDX, but I didn't need it. When I did need one, they offered a TSX. I said I was interested in a TL in the future (which I now drive), so I got one - for TWO days (they had the car for over a MONTH). They made me return the TL, then would only loan a RSX to my Dad after we complained and complained and I had to use my Dad's car. They said it was b/c I was under 25. I said that vehicle it License & Titled to ME, not my dad. They didn't care. I have a feeling that it was more because they had to put their master tech on the car, still couldn't pass emissions, and had to get the engineers from CA involved. A lot of work for a little amount of money (ins paid most or it was covered under warranty). Acura C/S heard about all that...

don't understand the 25 rule: you can fight in war at 18 - 17 with parental consent, get drunk at 21 but can't get a loaner car until 25? i'm beyond that so it's not a worry for me, i just want honest straight foreward service. i know, good luck.

I found out in Florida that you can be 21 and legally drive a loaner vehicle, but you still have to be 25 to drive a rental, atleast thats what I was told at the dealership. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

I'm 22 and own a 2001 cl, and every time i've gotten service done on the car at the dealer i got a loaner. Though i did buy the car from the same dealer(but i think if you service an acura at a acura dealer you get a loaner if they have one).
I just make sure to tell them when i schedule an appointment that i NEED a loaner because i have to get to and from work, and if its the weekend, well, i work on the weekends too. If i cant get a loaner i'll wait, i'm sure as hell not sitting at the dealer for 3-4 hours twiddling my thumbs . If im not working i'm not gonna waste my little amout of time off at the dealer. I've had a 2007 TL and a 2007 TL-S as a loaner, always happy to be back in my car though.
EDIT: BTW when i go into the dealer i'm all business, i dont act like a young kid so that may help

I think the bottom line is that it's dealer preference (unless prohibited by law in some places perhaps). The insurance rates are definitely higher for those under 25. Some dealerships may have contracts with their insurance not to loan to those under 25.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car will rent to anyone 18 and up (insurance related), you might have to be 21 if you walk in off the street. BUT, to rent from their "luxury" category (they carry BMW, Infiniti, etc) you must be 25, no exceptions.

Not to get off topic, but heres something else neat about all that being of age to drink, go off to war and stuff; When I joined a volunteer fire department I was 18. Became an EMT, started driving the ambulance and thought I was the youngest.....Then I met a guy who would turn out to be a good friend. He joined at 16 became an EMT and was driving the ambulance.....16!!!!!!!!!! Thats alot responsibility, but we couldnt drink, rent cars or do other things.
