Took In car to Acura Dealership today to do recalls and check 3rd gear

since i've a 2 week owner of the TL and a member of this site, i've found out many little and possibly major problems with the car. So before i hit the 50k mark, i took my car into acura today and had them replace 1 heater switch bulb, they ordered a new memo switch on the drivers door (light went out) they did both the fuel pump relay and the power steering hose recall, and they checked the pop/squeak noise when disengaging the clutch and the grinding into 3rd gear.. They are replacing the master cylinder and are giving me a loner TL to drive (all for free). I was kinda nervous on how i would be treated since its a 3 year old car. But he said if it rattles, pops, or squeaks 1 out of 100 times, that is 1 to many.. I couldn't agree more!! thumbs up to st louis acura in st.louis.

Yeah my Acura dealer is real nice when I come in to get the car checked out....seems my belts are squeaking a lot and they are not charging me anything what so ever due to the fact that I just bought the car less than 3 months ago. Good deal on your dealership.

Yeah luckily you have a cool dealership by you. I guess I can't really complain about the ones here in San Diego but I have had some bad experiences at them before. They usually always fix my problem if any but sometimes I have to talk to the manager and blah blah blah you guys know the drill.

You want to know why right? Look at our age man, lol. Once the idiot thought I was taking the car in for my dad and the guy that sold me the car bitched the service guy out, lol.

Armed with the recent Service Bulletin I'm finally getting them (Acura) to change the 3rd gear set on my MT. The work is due to be done this Thursday and I got my fingers crossed.

08 Problems?

This recall stuff covers what years? I 've got a 08 TL Type-S. About 4,000 miles. Anything to watch out for?

You think you guys have it bad? try being 17 and taking your car in for warranty work.
I have to drive 30 miles just to get decent service. I miss the Acura dealership in vegas where they knew me and my dad and took care of us.

Try Sussman Acura on Old York Rd. in Jekintown... I've had all my cars serviced with them and I'm very satisfied!

Oh God... Another bitter older person.
Get over yourself. I was simply stating that its worse for me than the 23 year olds.
Why dont we have a section for all the people that are bitter about young people driving new cars.
It can go
Home-Bitter-CL-RL-TL-TSX-RDX-Off Topic

Sound good?v

Ditto. I only go to Niello cause thats the only place I can have warranty/recall work done on my salvage CL. They couldn't even find the reason why my instrument cluster went out and my transmission didnt shift. and thats after my car got serviced for a completely unrelated problem. Tech looked over the car for 10 min but couldnt find the problem. They wanted 80 bucks to diagnose it. I drove off the lot and 20 min later I came back all fixed. It was a blown fuse. Gave the service advisor a new a-hole. Told him that an 18 year old kid found and fixed a problem that his factory trained, certified service technician couldnt. Give us young people some credit. We drive Acuras so we must be doing something right

Elk Grove Acura is much better. New facilities and nicer people. Though I havent had a service there, I have had pleasent experiences with their parts and sales departments. Even the parts are cheaper there then Niello. See you around!

I ovbiously know that everyone gets old, and I dont have a problem with old people. I just have a problem with the ones that are so bitter about young people having nice cars. Its always an issue here on AcuraZine.
WE GET IT- YOU DIDNT GET TO DRIVE A CAR LIKE THE TL WHEN YOU WERE OUR AGE. Ok, we're sorry. We're just really sorry about that, but theres nothing I can do about it.

BTW- Internet wars FTL

Niello does too. Once I just had them do a vaccum, no wash cause I already did a week before. At least get the vaccum if people are scared of the wash.

i took mine into acura of stockton to get both the power steering hose and windshield wiper motor recalls done. They had to keep it over the weekend because I brought it in on Saturday, not sure if its normal to have the car in for two days but they let me keep the 08 TL loaner so that I can get to work today. Overall, thumbs up for acura of stockton.

my dealer always says write everything down and come in with the list.....the mechanic goes over it all and then they tell u what the story is and anything covered is taken care of no questions...... anything not covered is left up to me....but i always have them take care of it all....why waste time hunting for parts when they can do it and do it correctly especially when they are honest about it.
