Too good to be true??

I have been looking at this 08 Acura TL with 96000km on it. It seems to be in good condition and drives very well. The price just seems much lower than on the others I have looked at. The seller seems confident and the car fax report looked clean and he offered to let me bring it to a dealership for full inspection. Usually I would not even consider it but the seller seems to be very confident in it. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

take it to get looked at, worst thing that could happen is they find something wrong and you look at a different one. usually when things seem to go to be true, they usually are full of problems. at least from my prior experiences! do a thorough check on the car, and have multiple places look at it if possible. if all checks out, make a good decision and enjoy the TL!!

Pay a Honda dealer or trustworthy shop to do a full inspection. Should cost about $50. Have them look for engine / transmission leaks, PS leaks, and especially broken engine mounts. Make sure it's a clear, non-salvage title. Good luck.

thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions, I am bringing it to an Acura dealership in a few days for a 70 some point inspection. If all checks out I will probably buy it. Also to make sure that it is clean and not a salvage title, will carfax give me that information without any glitches? or are there better ways to find information like that?

thank you

Would a 2008 accord for the same price be a more practical decision where cost of ownership and maintenance is concerned?

I believe the 2008 Honda Accords had brake issues, which might be costly. But either the TL or accord are great on gas and maintenance shouldnt be an issue at all.

IF maintained properly, oil/filter change, pressure switches like 40k-60kmiles, ATF changes every 15k-20k. ----> this was suggested by my Honda/acura indie mechanic.

Since its an 08 TL it had a revised tranny so failure rate is not as bad as the 04-06. The price seems resonable, I have seen 08's in CA sell for $15k-16.6k with roughly 60k miles like this 08. But since we are two different regions, not sure what prices are in Canada.
