i noticed ive been getting alot more attention from TLs on the road now that i have my type S tails cleared. The other day i was coming home from work and a TYPE S was up my @$$ and riding my bumper while i was doin 55 on the highway and wouldnt give me space, dont know if he was admiring or trying to get me to race but some people should be courteous enough to give some space on the road.

usually that means get the hell out of the way you're doing the limit in the wrong lane.

I was weaving in and out of lanes with an 07/08 white base last weekend. Funny part it was a girl, a hot one I think.

girls are cool when they know what they are doing...but there are some that weave and they have no idea what's about to happen next.

show some respect for us by using punctuation. Jk ... I've never had this issue bc it's usually me driving like I want some attention. It's ATLP's fault.

If someone tailgates me, I usually hit the windshield washers. They're aimed high enough in my TL that some of the spray usually goes over and hits the windshield of the car behind me; it usually startles the driver into backing off. I do this so often that now if I use my washers Ms1995hoo automatically looks in the sideview to see who's behind me.

Motorcycle riders don't seem to take kindly to getting sprayed, but there's an easy solution....back the fuck off, especially if the left lane is open and you can pass.

Tailgating is not an acceptable way to ask someone to move. Blink your high-beams a couple of times. If you tailgate as a way of sending a message, you deserve to have the guy in front of you slow down. (I'm not excusing anyone who cruises in the passing lane at any time, but the fact that it's obnoxious to hog the passing lane does not make it OK to tailgate.)

while I have to agree with you that spraying washer fluid is an acceptable way of asking someone to back off, cruising in the left lane is no less rude even though more legal than tail gating.

For me, personally, I have 4 HIDs aimed at the butt of the car in front of me and I generally use my right blinker to ask the person to kindly move.

I generally turn those on at least 5 car lenghts prior so I don't have to slow down...most drivers get the hint, some get no hint and don't move no matter how long you tail gate...at which point you simply go around, get in front and slam the brakes...just kidding, ehehe

Ok...maybe I slowed someone to 15mph once and they were still not getting out of the lane!!! but yea...some people do not see the reasoning behind leaving the left lane open for passing.

now...back to the TL talk with a short tempered guy and a 5 speed.

This is what you do in the event that anyone tailgates you...you look at your windshield and notice it's a little dirty so you decide clean it. you can also decide to clean your windshield even if its not dirty....anyone ever tried this?

lol I read every post to see if anyone had mentioned the windshield washer thing and gave up about halfway down the 2nd page and I decided to just post it myself. And now I see someone had posted it right before I did.

I've heard of people opening the sunroof and flicking a coin up through it if they are on the highway.

lol that reminds me of something my friend did...She was driving her Acura CL down the street once and some lady cut her off, my friend said she grabbed a handful of pennies and threw them at the lady's car

....The lady pulled over scared sh*tless....she probably thought she was getting shot at......and will probably NEVER cut anyone else off in her life!! lol. I am not saying I would have done what my friend did..but hilarious nonetheless.

That is a VERY BAD IDEA. There was a big news story here in the DC area a year or two ago about a woman who threw a McDonald's cup full of ice at another car in traffic. She was prosecuted. I don't recall the precise charge, probably reckless endangerment or something like that, but whatever the charge was, she was convicted.

whoa I never thought about that. I was a little intrigued and decided to look into it. I found the article and it looks like she was going to get 2 to 5 years in prison but instead she got probation. Thanks for posting this. it will be an eye opener for anyone who ever thought about doing this. Here's the link to the article. They call her "McMissile Mom" lol

Ususally when i drive, i would "hunt" for other TLs on the streets and be like "OH DAMNNN THATS ONE SWEET RIDE! NEED TO GET ME ONE OF THOSE!" and then remembers i already have one and try to find a way to tail it.

One time tailed a NBP and we came to a light, pulled up next to him and we both nodded and took off again

My first reaction is that maybe you should switch to the lower lane if possible/safe ... type-s or not ight have nothing to do with him tailgating ....

talk about hogging the fast lane ... the other morning on hwy commute, I was leading the way, followed by a VW GTI, then a Frod Explorer ... saw a cop coming from way back, chickened out & switched to the middle lane .. yet this two drivers seemed to just ignore the cop car & went on for at least 3 or 4 exits ... then the cop pulled out & i can only shake my head about how some drivers don't check the surroudings at all when driving ...

Yea TLs should respect other TLs...

Look at my thread on my experience with a 4G TL driver (different situation):

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/has-any-4g-driver-rubbed-your-face-3g-owners-738260/

********************

Anyways...I will admit that once in a while I will tail gate (left and right lanes)....but it is only when I'm really in a rush to get to my destination and I'm going to be late.

Yes I do realize it is my fault as I should have managed my time a little better but sometimes stuff happens right?

That is why when I see people tailgating me, I figure they must be in a rush so I will speed up a little...But when I'm already going 15km over the speed limit (which is the max speed you can go over a limit here in Toronto without getting demerit points from a cop) and people are tailgating, I think that is stupid.

Yea my pet peeve is people going slow in the passing lane too....pretty bad.

I think we need to respect everyone on the road. There's no reason to be tailgating. Tailgating wont get you there any quicker. It'll only increase your probability of not getting there at all. Simple example.. Say your average commute is 20 miles. If you travel that distance at 55 mph vs. 70 mph. What will the time difference be? 3.5 minutes. Now factor in that you're sporadically speeding up and slowing down, riding somebody's ass, changing lanes erratically, then someone decides to be an asshole to you and box you in so you can't pass.. the difference in arrival time is much less. relax. drive safe.

I don't have that problem where I live, as I know practially all of the TL owners where I live. It's the people that drive Subarus that are annoying around here. The kids in the fast subarus arent the problem, its the older people that cut me off all the time that are.

It's not limited to TL drivers, or any particular brand. It seems that more and more drivers on the road today are low skilled, rude and egotistical. They camp out in the left lane, don't signal, talk, text, eat, drink read, etc. while driving. It's a damn shame and it's actually getting dangerous out there.

It gets even worse when these low performance drivers get their hands on a high performance car or bike. I've worked for the Fire Department for 35 years and see it every day. Couple of weeks ago a pack of crotch rockets were doing a high speed run on a public highway, two of them lost it and went into the guardrail. One will never walk again if he lives, the other was decapitated.

Driving is serious business, don't let your ego get in the way of your responsibility.

...it doesn't seem to deter these idiots though. What's more upsetting is not so much that they risk their lives but they risk those around them. Talking about motorcycle riders, I saw some idiots pulling wheelies on the freeway a couple months ago and one guy almost ate it.. I'm not sure if there would have been much to recover because traffic was really moving. A week before that I got buzzed by a bunch of them doing atleast 120 at night.. I almost merged lanes in front of them except I saw the flicker of one of their headlights in my rear view before switching lanes.. that was in traffic as well. My buddy owns a track R6 & a street R1 and he doesn't do stupid stuff on the street, he takes it to the track. He's been in a couple serious crashes that he was fortunate enough to walk away from but it was always while pushing his bike on the track and not on the street endangering others. The same goes for car owners, if you want to push your car, go to the track or sign up for an autox event.
