TL vs TSX MID

My TL is at the dealer for some warranty work, and I got a 2008 TSX for a loaner...
I noticed the MID on the TSX seems to be a bit more useful than the 2007 TL's

It has an instant MPG meter, which I like
It has text for the HFL menus, When you push it, it displays "Main Menu" on the MID, and if you say "Setup" it changes to setup.

Im pretty sure the TL's just says "hands free link" on it..

Are the 08 TL's MID's this functional, if not, why does the TSX's have more features!

If it is manufactured in Japan like the RL, that is why it has more features.

My fiance liked the TSX, but I preferred the "luxury" of the TL. If TL is an Accord, then the TSX is a Civic.

I have an 08 TL and my MID is the same as the TSX.

Yeah, pretty sure it's on my '07 too. At least as far as the HFL menus.

The instant MPG is nice, but who would choose a TSX over a TL for *just* that? Uhhh, nobody. So, yeah, it's nice, but not very important.

Poke around on the forum some more and you will see that many of the members have done a fairly easy mod to their TL navigation system that allows for an instant MPG display on the Navi screen.

Won't work on Disc Version 4.xx in the 2007's and 2008's.

I got to say the TSX gauge cluster and MID is one of the best out in the market right now.

I think the RDX has a similar MID as well.

Just to clarify,
I picked up my car last night, and noticed that I was wrong about my MID on my 07 TL, it does show the menu Items in the MID for the HFL..

But still no instant MPG indicator.. Oh well, I still like the TL-S more than the TSX

DON'T get a TSX. Overpriced 4 banger mini Accord. TL-S is the only Acura I would EVER

buy. IMO...

What do you mean "INSTANT MPG indicator"?

I have an 07 Type-S and my MID displays:

Average Miles Per Hour
Miles Per Gallon
Miles that can been driven on current tank of GAS..

Some cars have an "Instantaneous MPG" readout on the Trip Computer. I've got it on my RepMobile (Impala). It gives moment-by-moment MPG.

I guess that extra bit of info is standard on the TSX Trip Computer.

Why do you care about this SO MUCH? Drive normal, not crazy and you should get close to EPA, probably about 10% less MPG. If your so WORRIED about MPG, go buy a Toyota Prius. Or stripped Civic manual.

My 04 deff. displays the same HFL info, ie Main Menu, Set-up ect. As for the MPG info thats hidden inside one of the main menus on mine as well, dosnt bother me though because all the infos still there if I want it.

For the record, they are BOTH accords. One North American, one European.

It's kind of like saying why the TSX had the turn signals on the side mirrors instead of the TL. TL got them in 2007+

The TSX is not an overpriced Accord. In my opinion, it looks better than a TL. However, I think the TL Type S is a very good looking.

When I had my 06 TL in the shop I got a TSX loaner and couldn't wait to get my TL back.

Much better overall in every way. Now my 07 TL-S is another big step IMO. $30k for a TSX

is a joke. Everyone has opinions, the TSX does look nice, but no-way would I spend $30k

on it.
