I upgraded mine last week, actually...
They did not run properly using the stock wiring harness... the fuse would blow during "warm up" on the HID's. I eventually ended up running seperate wiring to the Fog Lights, that was included in the kit.
It uses a seperate dedicated power source for the ballast, and a relay. I ran the signal wire from my low beam headlight supply, so when the headlights are on, the foglights come on as well. It works great now, and I LOVE the added light output.
I bought the 3000K color temp, which is yellow.
