TL Type-S Acceleration
Looking at purchasing a 2007 Acura TL Type-S with automatic and was wondering what I could expect for 0-60 times? Also, what's a good price for one with 44k miles? The one I'm looking at is $25,300
Thanks!
Thanks!

Depends on the source, conditions, etc, but something on the order of 5.9 - 6.3. Call it 6.1 on average.

Yeah, but it's a 3600 pound previous generation family sedan. It's not a "true" sport sedan and it's on par with the 330i with a 6MT.
Not too long ago (~5 or 6 years?) a 7.0 - 7.5 second family sedan was reasonably quick. The new 4G SH-AWD is sub-6 (say 5.8); the 6MT even quicker.
Times change and we can't all own Porsche's.

I feel like the TL is a pretty fun car to drive. It has good acceleration when you need it. To make up for everything, the tech it has over it's competition is pretty good. I'd choose my car over my moms 2008 C-Class.

I agree its sure not my moms new vette or my pops CLS 550 but its fast enough and i would take my cars interior and radio output over either the vette or the CLS 550 anyday!
Put some exhaust on the car makes it sound like your hauling ass haha

Def has great pick-up.. I hit 130 and my car wasn't even shaking. The ride is real smooth during high speeds.
The TL-S is a Great Car! I tested a G35, G37, IS250, IS350, 2010 Maxima, 2010 A4 and the 2010 C-Class... They all had its pros and cons.. but then I tested the TL-S.. I was hooked.. love the sound of the car when u initially start it.. has a sick humm to it. The interior was very clean and high tech! and It quick as hell! Definitely the car to buy if you were considering any of the above cars mentioned... Plus isn't front wheel drive which will help you during the rain and snow.. thats where the G and IS350 failed at.

For what it's worth, in comparison to the G37x, the TL Type-S is a slug. I drove the sh*t out of a G37x auto sedan loaner of the weekend - couldn't believe how tame/serene it made my '08 Type-S seem. Could be due to the 40hp difference (gotta love that dual intake setup, VQ motors are awesome). Could've also been because I don't drive my car the way I drove that G...
I think the Type-S performance is respectable given the other cars in it's class/time period - but had obviously fallen behind by '08. Nevertheless, it's still a beautiful car inside and out, with a smooth motor and will be a solid performing car for me and my family for the next 5 years+

I agree. My 2008 Type-S has the full A-Spec treatment and just hit 21,000 miles. It's as solid today as it was the day I first drove it. I don't drive it hard, but it has plenty of pep for any public road. The first 3 years have been wonderful. I trust that the next 5 will be also.

The car has the suspension treatment you referred to along with the body kit that were offered for the 08 model. The car originally belonged to Dan Wheldon who races for Honda. I bought it with 178 miles on the odo. They seem to have put every available option (like the optional steering wheel and 18" chrome-like wheel package) on the car. It was winter when I bought it. I picked up a take-off set of the standard 17" wheels and mounted winter tires on them to drive the car home. I run the 18" package during the warm months. I have been as pleased with this car as I have been with anything I ever had. My former 2002 E55 and 2007 STI would certainly outrun it. Outside of sheer performance though, it has a great balance of comfort, amenities, reliability, looks and value. As an all around car, its tough to beat.
