TL Trunk Tray Question
Hello Guys,
I just picked up My new Navi TL. It came with a trunk tray. I noticed on the tunk tray there are molded round areas where the cargo net should be attached to. Were they supposed to cut those holes out?... If you wanted to use the cargonet, are you supposed to take the cargo tray out...?? Anyone have the Installation instructions (LOL).
Thanks..
So far great ride.. have to get use the the limited window visability & pedal.. Does anyone sell body side moldings? didn't see it on Handa.... I know the dealer sells it but expensive...
I used to drive a CL S-Type...

Welcome!
Seeing so many TL's on the NJ roads now. Wow - VIN 5xxxxx - that explains it!
Enjoy it. (I do not have the trunk tray so I can offer no help - other than I recall people saying something about cutting their own holes/slits etc.)
Enjoy.

Here’s a thread on the cargo nets http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72985
For moldings go to “h o n d a cur aw orld . com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=ATL”. This site won’t accept the full link so you will have to put it in yourself, and take out the spaces and put in the .com.

Tray
All you need to do is cut a slit down the center of each circle (like making a button hole in a shirt) and then, like buttoning a shirt, slip the net hooks through the slits.
Doing it that way holds the tray in place and makes it much easier to hook the nets in place.
For me, it worked best to cut the slit the long way (parallel to the car) front to back.
But when you cut the slit, cut it on a piece of cardboard so the blade doesn't damage anything. A standard utility knife is all you need.

cargo net installation with trunk tray
this is what i did
1) Remove the trunk tray from the trunk.
2) Unscrew the knobs where the cargo net attaches
3) Cut a little slit through the trunk tray
4) Place the tray in the trunk.
5) Re-screw the knobs through the slit.
6) Install the cargo net.
this way the knobs are accessible for u to attach the cargo net.
