If anyone wants, I may take some snapshots of my base model on different octanes on the scanner....or maybe I'll save it for a different thread.

Congrats on your replacement type s, hope you have good luck with it and get to enjoy. Nothing but snow, slop, and cold here. I would have bought a kbp hind sight but love my car none the less and I have had plenty cars. It is paid off this month so most likely some type s rims and I'm calling it a day no more new cars for a while.

I, for one, would be interested in seeing the readings. I had my car in for a road test last Fall and the tech brought along his scanner and confirmed the ping at WOT. For sure the car has to be under load in order to record the condition. Of course, it's cold here now so my car doesn't aseem to be pinging at all. I'm going to actively pursue this issue in the Spring.

I think I Hate Cars is right...Just the other day my car was idleing in the garage & I was impressed how smooth and quiet the engine sounded. Then yesterday I was slowly pulling into a parking spot in a quiet spot & I heard a little ping. I run on 93 octane always.
