TL shifting......
I have a 05 TL Automatic and noticed that if I stay at 45mph the tach stays around 2k in 4th but if I go over 50mph it drops into 5th. Isnt the car suposed to drop into the lowest gear to get the best gas mileage? I can sport shift from 4-5th at 45 and it stays there but it seems like it should do this automatically. I got 236 miles on 13.0 gallons last tank. Is this normal?

Actually I think it's the exact opposite - at that speed, the higher the Gear, the lower the RPM, and hence the better the gas mileage. The car shifts at that point (in my opinion too early) to help save gas and get better mileage.
Side-note...this early shift point is what many believe is the cause of our 5th gear driveline vibration problem.
