TL-S vs. TL6

Me: '03 TL-S
vs.
My brother: '05 TL 6-speed

I left home earlier today heading back to school, and my brother was going to Blockbuster to drop off some DVD's. We figured we might as well have a go at it; my brother has had his car for a couple of months now and we had never gotten a chance to race until today.

So from a stop light, we took it up to about 60. We were DEAD EVEN.

Second run from a roll, from about 40 mph. Dead even again.

I hate my automatic transmission, and this ridiculously hot and humid weather. I was keeping up with low to mid 13-second cars back in January when it was cold out, and now I can't even beat a TL, albeit 6-speed, with just a Comptech RSB and AEM CAI.

Damn Acura for never offering the 6-speed on the 2G TL.

Sounds like you need to take it to the track. I'd pay to see that. Got a video cam?

And as before..... I want your grill!!

Before you take it to track, besure to takeout the amp & the speaker in the back.

You will save about 30-40lbs which would definitely help you.

I'll be ditching the stereo system altogether in the very near future. I'm growing out of the stereo stage, and it's only slowing me down and hindering the handling capability of my car.

I take my car to the drag strip on a regular basis, and even ran it at an HPDE at Mid-America Motorplex recently. The car took it very well and I was beating other drivers in Type-Rs on the track.

I've always said that I want to build a car that I can beat the shit out of at the track and have fun while doing it, but be able to go home in the same car without changing anything with A/C blasting cold air, and the luxury features comforting me.

After the HPDE, I can say that I have built my car the way I wanted it. It could be better, but I'm very happy with it. So umm.. don't tell me what to do with my car.

To each his own. You got what you wanted and that's all that matters.
