So i raced (my Acura) against 09' Pontiac G8 GT 6.0 Liter v8 361 hp & 385 Lbs of torque @ Wisconsin Dells and beat it the first time by about 1.5 car lengths the 2nd time Held next to it up untill about 110mph and he started pulling. I'm Pretty Impressed (so was he), i thought i would get smoked! Guess not


my car was dynoed at 262.7whp & 236.1 torque

From a dig both times, the first time he had it in manual mode, the second run he had it in auto, Yeah i had him beat the first time and he wasnt probably going to catch up until i hit my 135mph mark, the 2nd run i was right on his side almost the whole run.

Isn't your TL-S an auto? If so your car is a low 14's car at best with those mods so I am suprised you were hanging right with the G8 GT. Good runs anyhow!

You guys need to run at the track. I have a feeling this particular G8 GT would probably post a 14 flat @ 101mph...which means something's amiss with that G8 or (more likely) the driver.

Yes its auto, I highly doubt im in the 14's I'm pretty sure im in the 13's we will find out im going to the track within 2 months, ill get it on video.

^Good luck in breaking 13 sec in a quarter. There's only one TL that I know of that did it w/o a supercharger, and he was a 6mt. I haven't even heard of a TL-S breaking it yet either. Nice kill though.

wow nice kill i was actually gonna trade my car in for the 2008 Pontiac G8 GXP with 415HP 6.2 liter V8..but deffinetly nice kill on the GT..

Pontiac has the auto G8 GT listed at 13.8@101 mph. It weighs 400 and 500 lbs. more than a TLS, stick and auto. The OP's TLS might be an auto but it makes the power of a 6MT. No doubt a close race and a nice kill.

Don't matter. Unless he really knows how to launch that thing, he will have a tough time getting under 14 sec. It's the curse of the fwd.

Got this from LS1Tech.com. I happen to agree but I didn't mention anything about what he runs or might be capable of running but it's just to prove my point that it is a close race. Also it wasn't your typical drag race, they went a bit farther out than a 1/4 mile. Part of the curse, or the gift, depending on how you look at it, no matter how much reasonable power you add to try and make it run faster down the strip, there is not much result, but that extra power isn't wasted, it just isn't demonstrated in that way.

I hope you acheive what you are looking for. I don't think you will get anything better than a 14.3@97-98MPH. If a 6MT TL-S puts down 255whp stock with a 6MT and still can't break into the 13's I don't see your 5AT doing that with similar numbers.

I know of a few TL 6MT with basic boltons in the high 13's. I haven't seen any basic bolt on autos in the 13's though.

I don't see many TL-S auto's posting 1/4 times.. I'm sure there's some potential high 13's TL-S autos already.. As soon as i get the new ATLP exhaust/ big bore tb/drag radicals to go along with my pre cat deletes/j & race pipes/ur pulley & CAI I should be there(hopefully!)

With that much power I can see him getting into the 13s for sure. Someone on here (peternguyen I think?) ran a 14.02 @ 102 with an auto TL-s with similar mods, if not less. Sheeyit, now with my tires I should definitely be in the 13s and I have less than 230whp!

GT needed a driver mod for sure! Those GT's are mid to high 13 second cars and break into the high 12s with just exhaust/heads/CAI and a tune! race Ol boy in the G8 GT in about 6 months and the outcome will be alot worse...

OP im not saying I dont believe you. If you did actually take it then good kill. Its like comparing a 4cyl corolla to a 6cyl camry. The numbers just dont add up, theres one explanation. The driver had no idea what the hell they were doing. The G8 has a 100 HP on you, im just putting two and two together. BTW If you hit 13'z on da 1/4 mile with your vehicle & mods, theres a bill with your name on it.
